Standard non-ranked?

I have been playing Hearthstone for many years. I’ve always played non-ranked standard. Now, all of a sudden, standard is ranked. “Classic” mode doesn’t allow any of my “standard” decks. What happened to non-ranked standard? I HATE playing “ranked”.

If you click the button right at the top in play mode - a screen opens up where you can choose to play Standard, Casual, Wild or Classic Format. Not sure if that helps. In Classic Format you can only create a deck using cards from the original classic/basic sets. This doesn’t include the cards that were later added to Classic like Natalie Selene and Inquisitor Highmane etc

Winter. PRETTY BOY. Explained.

No, this doesn’t help. There’s no “standard non-ranked” that I can see. “Casual” is wild but not ranked, “Wild” is wild and ranked, “Standard” is ranked, and “Classic” is not ranked but is not standard. There doesn’t seem to be non-ranked standard any more as far as I can tell. Unless I’m missing something… I’ve always played non-ranked standard because I hate the cutthroatness of ranked play. If there’s no longer and non-ranked standard, I’ll be playing “duels” from now on, I guess. Or just stop playing and stop giving money to Blizzard when they come out with new sets. Blizzard: YOU’RE LOSING MONEY ON PLAYERS LIKE ME. BRING BACK STANDARD NON-RANKED!!!

I agree with Sariel. I don’t know if I “hate” playing ranked but I don’t like it. What I am perplexed about is why this change was made at all. My understanding that standard was the most popular form of Hearthstone, so why change it? Casual does not help. Again, why make this change?

Standard hasn’t changed

Casual is now both , just matches you vs the type of deck you made(wild vs wild and standard vs standard) they figured that adding a 5th button would break the budget :stuck_out_tongue:

Stop posting this spam nonsense!

Eight posts in before someone could plainly state this.

Anyway, why do y’all dislike ranked? Nothing’s actually at stake, ya know? Plus, more XP and rewards!

This is not spam. This is confirmation that 1 video was with me and with my hand. 2 video proof.

Less stress? Once I’m up to diamond 5 to legend I do not like using just any deck.

I play casual to experiment with decks.

After playing a number of games with the new “casual”, I can say definitively that IT IS NOT TRUE THAT THIS IS THE SAME AS THE OLD STANDARD.

For example, I built an absolutely standard deck and just played a game against someone with a wild deck. (It was a Rogue deck with “Eviscerate” which is now a wild card.) So, you DO NOT get matched up standard-vs-standard and wild-vs-wild.

So, again I’ll say there is no “standard non-ranked” mode, like the old “standard” mode available today.

And to the people who asked why I don’t like ranked play:

I don’t like ranked because of the cutthroat nature of the players and their decks. I play Hearthstone to relax, usually over breakfast when I’m still not quite awake. I don’t want to be stressing about playing my cards exactly right, or trying to figure out what my opponent is doing.

I like to play a casual game where I can experiment with decks, strategies, etc. I’ll sometimes try out theme decks around a particular mechanic such as a draw deck, or a battlecry deck or a deathrattle deck or something similar. And I don’t really care if I win or lose as long as I’m having fun. Ranked doesn’t provide a fun atmosphere.

Furthermore, when I’m playing these casual games, I’m also trying to resolve a daily quest which usually means I’m playing a deck tailored toward the quests I have - drawing cards, playing minions, using my hero power, etc. And, again, I’m not caring whether I win or lose so long as I’m playing toward finishing the quests.

In ranked play, when I’m playing casually over breakfast, or a themed deck for fun, or a deck tailored toward finishing a quest, or an experimental deck, I rarely get more than a few cards out and don’t really have an opportunity to experiment with the deck, or do enough toward a goal. And it’s definitely not fun which a game should be.

I don’t like ranked play. And there’s no longer a true “standard” casual mode. So, I probably will be playing a lot less and giving less money to Blizzard because I’m not paying them money for a game that I no longer enjoy playing.
