Standard is complete crap

I want to preface my opinion by saying that it was refreshing to play BSM Mage, a tier 2 deck, which should not have been nerfed. The deck pulled me back into Standard. I used BSM on four different HS collections to reach Legend three times and Diamond 10.

So I played a lot of games, and the meta is defined by:

  1. Scam decks, which involve cheating out expensive cards or big minions or wide boards early. At this rate of development for such a design strategy, all classes will have a scam-deck before 2025 is over. Class identity will mostly be gone by then as well. I mean, how else do you balance out such a mess without having to change the design philosophy for HS?

2). Reno decks. Reno is a terribly designed card. Reno may impact the meta more than any other card. I played Standard for a few weeks, and I am already sick of seeing Reno. I not sure how others put up with Reno for months.

3). Aggro. Some Aggro packages are way over-tuned and need a nerf.

Let me ask: is the current Standard meta what you hoped from 2024? Do like the direction Standard going? Would you pay to support the direction it has gone and is going?

I enjoyed checking out Standard once more, but my final conclusion about the meta is that it’s a crap-show.

I want to preface this by saying the death of BSM mage is the best thing that has happened to the game since the inception of BSM. That’s exactly the type of deck that ruins the game.

Like BSM?

No argument here.

It really depends on what you’re playing into them, though. They all have bad match ups.

I do.

My only issue is I saw a BBB dk this morning, and if that happens more I will be done.

I won the game playing an old excavate warlock for a quest, but it took 22 turns before the DK conceded because that deck really still has no win condition. I was only half paying attention for most of the early game, but decided to see how far the BBB could go and my conclusion is that BBB is the worst of hearthstone, imo.

HS like clog toilet instead try to clear it out blizzard keep clog it more more crap. All have do just look at the way taking HS it lucky for another few more years at most the sport already dead with viewer number down and it barley popular YouTube/twitch streamers anymore to be profitable for YouTuber now.

It only matter time before MS closed doors for good when profit get to small. At moment milking any little dime of player base have left. How much have blizzard cut from HS in past few years instead improve it that sign their it not making what used to.

It is better than 2023 meta.

Not even kidding. But that is a very low bar.

It’s amazing how many people are jumping for joy with the BSM deck being nerfed, yet cancer ridden crap like Pain Warlock and cheesing out crap with Cliff Dive are fine.

“you should comment in the forum and share your feedback there, we’re reading it”

one of many clowns (can pick your department) from blizz with another bs statement before they go back to predatory scams

Which Blizz staff said that? Where? When?

Just try to talk to any of these bozos. You’ll get the same utter nonsense bs reply, no matter the question or feedback.

I don’t believe you. “We’re reading it” isn’t their statement, it was your assumption.

They will never read anything here, and they will never say that they’ll read anything here.

You’re free to believe what you like. But you can try it on any channel. The favourite choice is via X, so you get instantly blocked.

“but I don’t believe you”, just typed it for you, so you can copy pasta it at the start of your sentence again.

You said that Blizzard has stated that they read the forums. Blizzard has not stated that they read the forums in at least a decade. You told a falsehood.

No one from Blizzard has ever encouraged you to comment here. No one from Blizzard has ever promised to read your posts here. You just assumed that they would read them.

They won’t. Ever. Not even a glance.

Does that make them bad? Sure. Does it make them bad in the way you say it does? Nope.

I’m not talking about blocks, don’t move the goalposts.

The death of BSM is highly exaggerated. I am still top 100 with it (orb version, 24 legend at this writing).

But yeah… The meta is scam or be scammed.

Just relax and play It undercover.

In fact considering what happened i would Just say the same.

With it “dead” we can play mage in peace.
So while we for sure not have enough impact.

The insistence of people who play to say it is good is dumb and counter productive to anyone who playing the class.

Since the nerfs i did take the posture that if people think it is dead than It is dead and suggest(no one is forced to anything) anyone to do the same.

I mean, when you consistently, for 6+ months, get top 100-200 with a Sludgelock, which noone else on the entire world is playing for months, then you kinda stop listening to what others say about the deck strength

Mage problem is the opposite.

People listen mage players too much.

So anything considered viable hits 30% playrate.

I don’t see how that’s true, but I also can’t say it isn’t just based on my own opinion and experience xDD

Like, who comes to mind when a “mage player” is mentioned?

a) Mallenroh,
b) Kewl,
.
.
.

I don’t really know any others, lol, but this is more than enough for me to never listen to a word they say about deck strengths xDDDD

They be whining 350 days a year about what they’re doing with that class, and the 14 days the class is broken, they don’t even play the game.

I was thinking more about actually relevant people like zeddy.
Not that he knows anything but he is always showing of those decks and has audience.

How could the deck BSM Mage be tier 2 ? The win rate indicates otherwise.

I think mana cheating highroll decks have been around far too long (remember jackpot rogue?)

On the other hand some other options exist… while obviously not rank 1 levels of power if you enjoyed old ‘curvestone’ decks from the past elemental shaman is decent if not overshadowed by the mana cheat decks.

There are still some OTK decks available but they arent everywhere.

I think if they get rid of marin and scale back some of these mana cheating cards (cliff dive/wave nostalgia/big spell mage activators) things could be a lot more interesting than they are now.

Thats not to say mana cheating would disappear entirely as theres cards like shopper in DH and that other 6 mana 6/6 that reduces costs and various other limited mana cheat cards in classes but it would go a long way in making things more interesting than everyone playing their 10 drop on turn 4 or 40 mana worth of stuff on turn 6
