Sorry... Not sorry? Bring it back!

I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes Hearthstone special. The new event notifications, the spotlight on tournaments, and that overall sense of life coming back to the game - it all feels good. Hearthstone’s got personality again, and that’s something I think we should keep leaning into.

So here’s my small ask, and I’d love to hear what others think:
Can we bring back the “Sorry” emote?

Yeah, I know why it was removed back in the day. It was getting spammed sarcastically, and it was meant to cut down on negativity. But let’s be honest — people still use “Wow,” “Thanks,” “Well Played,” and even “Greetings” as sarcastic jabs. Replacing “Sorry” with “Wow” didn’t stop emote abuse. It just shifted which lines get used that way.

But here’s the thing: “Sorry” wasn’t just sarcasm. It could be used with real sincerity, or as a cheeky, playful part of the game’s vibe. It gave players more personality. It added a layer of social flavor that fit Hearthstone’s tone: clever, unpredictable, sometimes chaotic, but never too serious.

Hearthstone was never meant to feel sterile. It’s whimsical, dramatic, and weird in the best way. Every hero’s voice line, every card interaction, every sound effect - they all add to this big goofy world we’ve all been part of for years. “Sorry” was a small part of that, and I think its return would be a cool nod to longtime players while giving new ones more ways to connect.

No big overhaul needed. Just a little something that helps the game feel more alive. If we’re leaning into Hearthstone’s identity again, let’s embrace it fully. Bring back the “Sorry.”

See you all in the Lost City of Un’Goro!

Given how snarky most of the emotes on newer skins tend to be, adding “Sorry” back in wouldn’t be too bad! I approve!
