So, Reno Got Put in the Ground

The change to the battlecry is nice, no longer locked out of making a board, doesn’t wipe non-minions at 10 mana this seems unplayable now. I mean it’s literally worse than Twisting Nether at this point. Who is paying an additional 2 mana for 5 armor on this card? Just make the cost 8 so it’s in-line with other board wipes that exist in the game.

There’s literally no reason to play highlander decks after this nerf.

still only opponent and still remove not destroy

good. They’ve been strangling slower decks since conception.

Reno isnt the one strangling slower decks. Herpa derpa decks like asteroid shaman, ele mage and other decks dealing 4680 damage without board from hand are.

Yeah This card is pretty much unplayable,
now, as is the architeype.

But don’t worry, bigger issue decks weren’t addressed in the balance patches and are gonna be left to run rampant.

Good. Love to hear it.

Now delete Helya and we’re back.

I’m thinking Sargeras and Rheastraza just became a little more playable now.

Good overall changes. I don’t think the Reska nerf was big enough and I’m surprised to not see Oracle getting hit. Lamplighter change takes away a lot of reach from ele mage so I expect it to struggle to finish off some matchups.

Reno decks WERE the slower decks. I’m confused by what slower decks you’re referring to.

Long over due. Awesome.

Really? Because the reach is the full board of the 3/2 that copy itself along with the 5 mana spell that now costs 0 + the forge card and the other burn dealing WAY too much with 7 spellpower +1 minions on board

If that’s the card you’re struggling with you got bigger issues.

What an absolute travesty. I dont have any fondness for reno… but its been in the game for a year or whatever now and was pretty well settled in as it was at 10 mana. They already knew what it did and they released their starship mechanic anyway knowing that reno countered it… and then nerfed reno because it countered it and that might hurt adoption of the new expansion.

Its just another example of the pure lack of foresight by a team who will destroy cards because they cant plan ahead properly. Quasar also falls under this… that card was created just to break the game and what a surprise it did and now rogue has 1 less card than all the other classes this expansion.

they do plan ahead

but they probably didnt expect the old complain about " this card is uninteractive " shifting to this should be uninteractive !!! when talking about starships …

Good riddance.

Terribly designed card from the beginning.

Also 1 and 1/2 new legendaries for the whole year. Sonya is the only good one and Gravitational displacer might be useful despite it still being a bad 5 drop just for its effect if starships are good. I guess they didnt want displacer cheaper because it would be too easy to play and still want it to be challenging to get out. They should have at least made it a 6/4. The stats are just so underwhelming when it does nothing when it is played

Except it will do little to help Starships because it’s not control decks that are keeping Starship decks from taking off but massive aggression from decks like elemental Mage or elemental Shaman.

Overall tho the patch looks good, other than not touching elemental Shaman at all.

Especially Sargeras since it will also remove not destroy for a lesser mana cost and add a continuing board presence … What is the point of Reno now ?

Those cards don’t really overlap though noone was playing highlander warlock.

I would say “nice”, but highlander decks were already bad in reality after the previous nerf.

It is RAMP decks that were mainly playing it like ramp druid and ramp warrior.

And frankly they didn’t deserve to have it so they shouldn’t have it.

Too cheap in terms of preparation needed.
