Slay the Spire?

I’ve had this game in my library for some years now but I never played it until the other day, and I just wanna say. Wow! Have any of you played this game? I know it’s different fro. Hearthstone, but I found it amazing you could get the entire game all included for the price of a non-flashy Hero Portrait. The unfortunate thing for now is that I used to just play Hearthstone for default time waster, now I just want to play Slay the Spire.

I had it on my phone but I never really got into it. I probably need to play a little longer to know whether or not I like it. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, mostly on this forum.

I think it’s a truly great game… that doesn’t do expansions. Strongly recommended, but it’s a limited amount of content and it’s player vs computer, so eventually you “get good” and it’s all played out and stale and you move on to something else.

In short, see you in a couple months, have fun!

Strongly depends on how hard you are willing to comit and tryhard the game.
Once you’ve finished the game, wich can be done first try with enough basis and luck, you unlock a difficulty counter.
Each time you beat a new difficulty level you unlock the next one, up to 20.
There’s also different characters with really different playstyles so you still have more content other than just difficulty. That and you will unlock new cards to be found in you rnext runs.

yeah games with different difficulties to choose from end up being the illusion of choice for me. The easy mode is just as difficult to beat as the hardest mode. (As in not beatable). Blizzard AI in their games have been like this for ages. StarCraft 1 and 2, WarCraft 3, Diablo any number. Heathstone solo mode (i forget which ones, but it had regular and heroic). Mario 1 is famous for looping the game into more difficult flavors of itself once you beat Bowser, but I could never get inside the castle lol.

Games just be too hard sometimes. Dont matter how long you play at them, beating them just isnt a thing that can be done for some.

My best friend IRL doesnt have this issue, he has that Wesley Crusher/Doogie Howser type savant brain of a genius beyond his age and has thought the most difficult ai in games like i listed were too easy when we were like 13. We 37 now and I it hasnt changed for either of us lol.

Really a great game.

There will be Slay the Spire 2.

Well, do I have news for you, sir (if you don’t already know, of course.) Slay the Spire 2 was announced last month. Supposedly a 2025 release date, but it’s nice to see more coming our way!

I beat it with the 3 main characters and am on Ascension level 2 now, still learning a lot what works what doesn’t, but I’ve probably played it for like 15 hours now it’s still a lot of fun, I didn’t really realize how good of a game it was I mean I bought it way back when I just never played it because I just played Hearthstone
