Would add another layer of gameplay to decide whether to silence a minion or hero. Could be helpful to people to counter an opponent who changes hero powers midgame. The silence could be for a round or two.
Might also justify Priest’s 4 mana Mass Dispell by making that card silence both minions and hero (hero for 1 turn) and draw card since priest has 1 mana Shard of Naaru aoe silence now

Silence as a mechanic should not do that. There was a card that would disable hero powers (Mindbreaker, iirc), pretty sure it’s in Wild these days, but it was symmetrical. But silence being able to do that would be unhealthy, because different classes have different access to silence mechanics. Priests have it most readily, but many other classes only have one (or less?) method to do so. Something like that is better introduced as a new mechanic/revived core set card, rather than tying it to an established mechanic like Silence.
Same for your other post about silence affecting secrets. Priests would have an overly strong advantage over Paladins, Rogues, and Hunters as a result.

I think when you freeze a player they shouldn’t be able to use their Hero Power. Any Hero with an attack based power gets stuck but spell based powers can still be used.

and Virgo4Ever, yeah, makes sense cause if the hero is frozen, how does the rogue grab their weapon, the hunter shoot their bow, the demon hunter grow claws, and the shaman throw out totems?!
