Roping Fix Suggestion

HS should shorten the turn time and give out reserved time like other TCG and card games. This would improve the gameplay experience for everyone. Shorten the overall game time and more time on the complicated turns. 2-3 time tokens for an extra 15 seconds per game would be amazing.

If said person does rope out their turn, the game should shorten their next turn even if they are playing a card.

I notice people roping 2-3 turns then waiting until the last second to play a card which extends their turn.

Magic the gathering online has a wonderful way of dealing with ropes. Imagine if your rope had a total time on it, if your total time runs out you lose. if implemented say you rope at the end of your turn it pulled 20 seconds off of your 60 total. then the next turn 20 more seconds. once it is zero they just instantly lose. i believe in Magic online it does slowly regenerate your total rope time but it is very slow.

The forum crusaders will soon be here to demand that “change is not allowed”, “I’m allowed to rope”, and “this is the way it has always been”.

MtG Arena also extends your turn time / prevents the “rope” from even appearing, as you play or use cards. Your turn can be 5 minutes or even longer if you keep playing cards. Do you really want system like that in HS where some combos are kept in check by the turn timer and card animations?

Kids here are offended by 75 seconds, imagine the outcry should their opponent play a 5 minute long turn.

For every 2 (or 3?) turns you end quickly, you get 1 more rope extension, capped at 5 I think.

The majority of people don’t rope to annoy you, so changing the rules will only hurt more people than the one who will benefit from it.

Rope bot users should get banned, since using bots is not allowed.

As the old sayings go —“It takes one bad apple to spoil the barrel” and “This is why we can’t have nice things” I have seen people purposely rope when they have clearly lost, rope on the first turn and when you look at your tracker discover they couldn’t have played anything, and run the rope out on every freaking turn.

Imo, every time a player ropes the time to their next rope should be shorter.

Base rope is 75 seconds
After the opponent ropes, the time to their next rope will be 60 seconds
2nd time they rope its 45 seconds
3rd time they rope its 30 seconds
4th time its 15 seconds and caps at 15 seconds.

If your opponent ropes too much they effectively get a permanent nozdormu for the rest of the game

Seriously, can we just hand the game over to RageMage or at least let him/her be lead dev?

blizz clearly stated many time that you can rope all you want. this is your turn and no one can take it away from you… except rogue animations of course lol

I love how Blizzard states people can rope all they want, but they don’t do anything about their crappy animations lol.

honestly, if they are playing cards i’m not bothered at all. take 10 minutes if you need to, it’s the malicious roping that bothers me, zero mana remaining nothing left to do roping. that kind of stuff. and bots of course.
