Just little tip, when your opponent plays tons of cards, just keep clicking on cards which appears and the animation should disappear faster.
or if you see the rope burning just close the game and reopen, it will skip all the animation

Does animation time count against the opponentās turn? It feels like it does but Iām not sure. Is it possible to shorten / deny the opponentās turn if you spam enough lengthy animations?
Iāve definitely been animation screwed on my own turns from my own cards which take FOREVER to finish their thing. Titans are notorious for taking a very long time but also stuff like headless horseman.
Itās a known exploit which MicroActiBliz has done nothing to fix. Every player who uses this exploit has been reported by the group which I belong to for cheating. 
so far, weāve gotten at least 1000 accounts banned and weāll continue to report.

Itās been the case for many years but they fixed that a few years ago.
Thr short answer is no.
However itās possible that some new setups still make the opponent lose time
