Quest is 2 slow and inconsistent. Supporting cards are just not good enough. 7 mana 5/5 with rush - absolutely trash stats for discount that doesn’t work until late game. 1 mana removal - same problem, only works well in late. In early game its 1 mana deal 2-3 with no additional effect. Trash. Rogue needs buffs right now.
It’s super fun in wild, though.

Its a design failure in my opinion if I can see the set, and with experience with similar rogue value kits from the past, tell right away its not any good. But the devs cant. Its like they have tunnel vision on the set they are making without any consideration of how it actually plays
i made lie in wait rogue as the first deck to play this exp (in wild) and am having fun, yes i am losing more than i win in gold ranks but oh well that’s life. i’m seeing new things and trying new things at least.

I should probably take out Fizzle and maybe add in Shek’zara or Stowaway or Swindle like you maybe. I discovered Shek’zara during a game and it was okay to discover my Greenwings since I was getting smashed (i think I still lost that game though lol).
edit: took out Fizzle and added Swindle in I think it’s cheap so maybe I can play it before I get aggroed down lol.
probably should take out Son of Hodir too but oh well. Maybe add in Stowaway or some removal.
Master Dusk is definitely terrible in any faster paced rogue deck, tried it out in the brawl and only won because the 1-cost discover a legendary minion minion gave me A f kay as one of the choices mid match and i already had a couple ninjas shuffled in the deck, combined with the dragon with the DR that shuffles two 4/5s into your deck…
The real problem is keeping your hand size under control
Merchant of Legends is really bad. Sometimes you get a good hit but you’re shuffling in bad cards that your hero power will pull later.
Too early to tell honestly. With Paladin and Loh Druid all over the place asap to the face aggro is in fashion to beat them. Give the meta some time to settle and see if it’s really bad.
Yeap. It just ruins ur dech. They need to add some discount to shuffled legendaries. And even with discount u dont want to play it.
At risk of sounding like pre-vacation Mallenroh, since you at least know Rogue’s quest rewards, I’d say it’s much stronger than the Mage one

A one mana single target building spell does not remove Druid’s six minions on turn four: 4/3 - 3/3 - 3/3 - 4/3 - 4/3 - 4/3
In fact nothing in Rogue does. I even have a Tidepool Pupil variant to get extra Photon Cannons and tried to clear those minions on turn 5 with a High Templar. I Shadowstepped it so if I had another turn to live maybe the game could have more back and forth.
The Druid easily removed all of my other initial minions with swipe and their extra free minions.
I dunno, I have completed it extremely fast with spell quest mage. The location can discover 3 spells in a turn and often you’ll discover off discover. Completing quests by turn 5 is quite doable. Problem is the deck just isn’t very good.

Obviously, it takes a bit of luck to playable 1-cost spells from the location to even make that possible, and it could help with surviving, but not much
It takes 3-mana spells to survive, but we need 1-mana spells to get the quest doable, and it’s a conflict which makes the deck not-viable
The only combo that can potentially save the deck is playing Exaar Haataru, but then again, that’s 1 card in 30 and it requires solid setup
at least in Wild augmented elekks count each individual shuffle towards the lie in wait quest, so having an augmented elekk cuts down the time to complete quest by a lot. very nice.
You basically have to run 29 discovers and the quest for mage to get the weapon on like turn 7-8.
Mage and rogue kinda have similar issues with their quests. Both require a deck built completely around them with little to no flexibility. At least there are good discover cards. There are like 3 good shuffle cards in the whole game and none of them are rogue cards lol.
Mage quest has another problem where if you do get the weapon and your opponent is able to outlast the charges; you dont really do much to swing the game in your favor. Discovers are nice, but you cant expect to be very explosive at swinging the board once your weapon is gone
Funniest thing about the mage quest reward is that if it’s ever good a simple viper will completely ruin this thing. Hilarious design tbh.
Mage quest is actually one of the best quests. Paladin is on top, warrior second and mage 3rd. Rogue quest is worst. I hope blizzard will buff every aspect of it cos rn rogue is super weak

If I knew that’s what their quest reward does, I wouldn’t have even applied pressure on them
