And time for Blizzard to put money on something more than a college student’s video.
Pfsh as if that’d ever happen
Yeah, exactly. I don’t think the company wants to spoil their cash cow support, so I can’t imagine them purposefully leaking the cards.
I’m guessing either complete incompetence or a spiteful employee…and based off what we know about the company from the new book release, a spiteful employee seems likely.
My money is on a spiteful unpaid intern
I despise any company that promotes unpaid intern practices. If they have one, Blizzard deserves this 100%. It’s a predatory way of doing business.
I’ve shown you “the Raxxanterax video” before right?
No sir, you have not.
Blizzard didn’t even attempt to have a paid employee balance drop rates for Diablo Immortal because they knew alpha or beta testers would do it for free.
That’s unpaid game development work if you ask me. Maybe they don’t have the title of intern, maybe they don’t come into the office, but they’re an unpaid intern to me. The modernized work-from-home version.
Rax goes above and beyond even testing. The guy does the math i would be willing to bet half their own internal people are unwilling or incapable of doing. I mean he basically balance tested D4 before and after launch for them and broke everything down into cold hard data.
Not surprising for anyone that has followed him for a while. He turned down a job as an Actuarial.
so far nobody here posted a thread about those cards …but it wont take long
we dont have mods here to force them to put spoilers tags
Nah, if there were no leaks, the doomposting would have been how they’ll bet that mage will suck. Or they’ll jump on other class reveals and cry how great those are.
The truth about mage doomposting is that it actually has nothing to do with the mage class. It has everything to do with mage players. As long as mage players feel bad, they’ll invent something to doompost about no matter what the actual mage class is like.
And (certain) mage players be like Hulk. They’re always mad
I can neither confirm nor deny…
care to name anyone? 'cause I haven’t made a thread about new cards in a very long time, so I know you aren’t referring to me unless your memory is failing.
And I don’t mean to knock his skills. I just think it’s unwise to donate such competence to a multimillion dollar corporation, getting no money back, just because you love a game.
But Blizzard knows that people like Raxx are out there. Maybe they’re not all as skilled as him, but they’re close, and there are LOTS of them. It’s like there’s a line around the block of people wanting to be unpaid Blizzard balance and design interns. I’m not talking about low quality work but the highest quality work, for zero dollars.
Blizzard exploits people like Raxx and gets by on an absolute minimum of paid labor. I think it’s finally starting to bite them back with unsanctioned leaks, and that’s good.
This I believe. #UnionStrong
How are you going to unionize a bunch of people who aren’t even employees lol
good point. I just think all labor should have union representation.
minami, believe it or not.
Eh. I think unions should be more important than they currently are, but there is a lot of corruption in unions when there is no real competition for who it is that holds the position of representing the workers (whether they actually represent them or not). The same things that make employers bad when they have monopoly control, can make union leaders bad when they have monopolistic control over the union.
That corruption is especially sad because most employees do not have strong negotiation skills, and people should have someone who has strong negotiation skills to represent them when it comes to compensation and benefits. You have a point that people alone are weak, at least in terms of bargaining power. Employees deserve a champion. It’s just that there’s no guarantee that a union will be that champion, when it can instead pursue its own power.
Minami is a really good player. I wish I agreed with him on more things.
I don’t think he plays much in Wild, so maybe that’s why We always seem to be on different sides of the debate.
