RNG proves God?

You think it’s random, but previous actions led you to that point in time where you highroll. That is God.

I would say it’s deterministic, and randomness is only something that we cannot know or control before hand. God has to have a conscience to be a God, at least that’s how folks understand it. Laplace’s Demon would be a better concept here perhaps.

I said God, not Christianity. But ofc, you think yours is the only one that exists.

There’s a Steven Seagal song that goes “My God is better than your God” was this what he meant

I’m glad this thread was made during Easter. I do wonder how much God would care about you winning a video game… but still! Who knows?!

And Hearthstone is my religion!

I guess you could be Jewish and still believe in God. But, Jesus died for all sins, and I would rather believe in Him.

The G in RNG stand for God my dude, but more specifically, for Jesus.
It was called RNGeesus for a reason.

(yes I know this is a joke thread/post but I’ll ramble on anyway)

That’s like the god of the gaps argument. Science discovered all the stuff that isn’t God, so just say the stuff that came before or stuff science hasn’t explained is God.

The problem with that argument is that this can easily be replaced to argue for other things. One easy test I have for religious arguments for God is this: does the argument make just as much sense if I replace “God” with some comic book super hero/villain?

I can’t remember a time when this didn’t work.

Those previous actions? That wasn’t God. That’s Thanos. You think it’s random? No, he is… inevitable.

Wait, he died and then rose again three days later, right?

… so really all he did for us was give up a long weekend.

That’s not nearly as impressive, imo.

Yeah, pretty sure the avengers took longer and did more work to undo Thano’s snap.

And Black Widow didn’t conveniently come back. She’s dead Jim, she’s dead.

Now speaking of jumping between pop culture movie refrences, Spock did come back to life. And then in the remakes they had this new timeline and don’t get me started on how Picard died but came back as an android or something and it just gets really confusing.

…though it’s probably still less confusing than some stories religion tells us.

All hail the one true God, Leeroy Jenkins.

I can’t promise you’ll have everlasting perfect bliss in the afterlife, but at least we’ll have chicken.

Also I thought it was more like RNG disproves God.

God: Behold, I have a perfect plan for all that was, is, or will be!
random thing happens
God: Nevermind, I wasn’t counting on that.

I don’t see how you can believe in divine Providence and at the same time believe randomness exists. Instead of true randomness you’d have determinism beyond the human capacity to predict.
