Yesterday and today playing for hours, try to guess how many rogues I play against?
0, absolutely 0, nada, the class was completely erradicated out of the existence, except for me, trying hard to get anything could work, so far the only games I win was when I had the GODLY luck with minions from hero power or random spells, what happens once in ten or twenty games.
Shadow step was the last pillar it keeps the class barely viable, now it is gone rogue is dead and buried.
Unless they massively overbuff the poor Valeera out of the charts in the next balance patch the game will have one class less to play.
When was ‘poor Valeera’ not massively overbuffed in the game history — ever?
Why, Preparation still exists and doesn’t cost at least 5 mana, Deja Vu or Nightmare Fuel still doesn’t cost at least 7 and make the card discovered unplayable unless you Combo… That’s be a starting point for me.
rogue will do better once broken aggro decks are nerfed. it will be fine if you know good combos. most people just play a minion + shadow step 1-2 times and then play “YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IM CAPABLE OF” card and think they are a good rogue player.
Of course the way it used to be played is dead, no more bouncing the same minion a dozen times, or drawing your entire deck by turn 4. Want a 0 cost bounce spell? Prep then Web of deception
Not sure whats going on with it in standard , Currently r2 on wild with pirate rogue , cheating out the dream cards is very strong with very fast pace starts and the king to sometimes cut their health , t4 wins with highroll - (if you dont know the trick is to use the weapon to fetch the dream spells, and it also can force the king into their hand, use the 4 mana minion to make the 8 mana spell free and get your dream cards, you dont need prep, spam minions , buff them, and find the dream cards is the basic attack)
If I’m going to play aggro it’s going to be pirate Rogue. Killing a Renathal player the turn after they Reno back to 40 and board wipe you is hilarious.
