Rewards Track Update

  1. Not good enough of a product for me. I would buy the pass for sure if it was good enough. Its not good enough as it is right now, even after the changes.

  2. Its worse than before the revamp for me, so it makes me wanna play the game less than before.

There are bots and such players who stretch their games, wait for the rope to burn and play their cards right in the last seconds, just to receive more XP!

Meeting plenty of opponents, who do are inactive and add more length to the marches to receive XP kills all the fun, which the reason of all of this XP system. The number of innactive and such players has risen significantly, which threatens the game, fun and makes me to leave the game.
There are so many bots and players who act like them is horrible and makes the ranked game not fun for me.

And now we see the “we were planning future exp events” is a lie as well. As you’d certainly do one with the launch of a new set… like we have right now.

‘Events’ sounds too vague. It’s harder to track the rewards from the events, we don’t know how often they will happen and how much we will get from them. We again have to blindly trust Blizzard that they will deliver, even though they already betrayed our trust with this fiasco. How can we be sure that they won’t reduce the number of events/event rewards next year or in two years?

If they want to show their good will they should just improve the rewards/exp gains in the new system, and then add some extra goodies through the events if they wish so.

It needs to be transparent. We should be able to calculate the rewards. In the old system it was possible to calculate what you will get from quests and wins.

I remember times when they were releasing some kind of adventures, but I was low on the gold. Every week they released a 700 g wings so I knew that every day I have to complete my 60 g daily quest and win 12 games, and that way I’m my 700 g for a new wing in a week. Transparent and clear.

This is not a fix. This is a joke. So you are saying that in order to get us where we were before you are doing those seasonal events with extra exp? Seasonal events we had on top of our normal Quests? You guys are still missing the point, it´s fine that you are trying to give us more choice but this is so much worse than the old system and there is NO benefit in buying the Battlepass. Hearthstone has always been expensive but now with the new reward system (and less gold overall) and a mini expansion in between expansions on top now is ridiculous. You expect us to buy more stuff with less gold and trying to force us to invest even more money into this game.
I can´t believe that you guys really thought that that was a good idea. Ridiculous, really!

For me it’s not so much the decrease in rewards, it’s the deceit. They blantantly lied to us about absolutely guaranteeing that we’d earn the same or more gold for the same playstyle. That’s clearly not the case. Now I will want to see how the system runs from expansion to expansion, so the real evaluation starts from now to next expansion (March or April). But they are definitely off to a horrible start.

That’s such a stupid response, you couldn’t even add the gold alongside those packs. It’s disgusting the way you treat HS community. I will never spend a dime on this game ever again, and I was fine with buying a pre-order every expansion.
Also, your fix fixes nothing in reality, you are just trying to fool the playerbase again.

And you keep making the same communication “mistakes”. Please provide numbers and details regarding the special events.

Thank you for your response.
My biggest concern is the new incentive to rope and the rise of bots. How and when will these issues be addressed? It is already causing extreme frustration among the player base.
Thanks,

And nothing for the bug of the weekly quest ?
You are going deeper and deeper. Don’t you think our oppinion was to earn less gold and make you more richer ?
It was obvious that you will give a “fix” version of it, and try to make us think like : Oh ! blizzard gave us more gold, thank you blizzard (no !)
And in my opinion the fix version doesn’t give enought gold to get before the expansion.

You’re still making us work more time, and do well in modes we don’t enjoy, for less gold.

There’s 3 more difficulty weekly quests than in the past. There’s more cards this expansion requiring us to buy more packs.

I used to get 6160 gold a season from 1.5 hours per week of quest maintenance. I now have to spend 7 hours a week or more to keep earning similar rewards.

And we always got extra stuff start of season or during events, shoving them in the track and saying “look you’ll get more stuff” is very misleading…

You were supposed to give us more, not aim for breaking even resulting in less and requiring us to spend more time as well.

Fix. The. Game. Fix the 8 billion problems with this update, and make duels less pay to win/stupid. Why in god’s name do I need to collect cards from an expansion in order to unlock other hero powers or special cards.

Doesn’t really sound like you are listening. Hearthstone is too expensive. Poorly balanced. Mismanaged. It is really too bad. I’m debating quitting and have bought every expansion for the last couple years.

-sigh- For the love of Osiris… Activision-Blizzard/Team 5, guys… As a long time player since the beta, this has been a game that I have enjoyed. I have also had to step away from the game because of the toxicity and mental health deterioration that it has brought me at times. I want to lay down some building blocks on things you can do to improve the game/experience for F2Pplayers because honestly, you’re NOT going to lose the “whales” that spend chunks of money on this game for packs, aesthetics, the Tavern Pass, etc.

  • More dust/Gold, less headaches. While you’ve gone about doing duplicate protection for the players to make sure they get all the cards from the set, that has been a wonderful part of the ideal that you are doing Quality of Life changes to make sure that players can get their hands on most if not all the set thru gold. However, there are plenty of F2P players that also want to be able to craft cards without having to dust certain cards in their collection to make a fun deck or a competitive deck possible. You know what fixes that? More dust for dusting cards and more gold to buy more packs in hopes of pulling the cards they want. Since this game doesn’t have a trading system, you can’t trade for certain cards that you’d want for your collection. More dust when I dust cards, free/extra dust, reward dust makes that possible. Take a look at Runeterra for example. A game that is one of if not THE most free to play friendly game possible. Weekly reward chests for the exp gained during the week with quests, you get cards, you get shards to craft cards. The more free crap you give up, the better feeling the experience is for F2P players AND it also makes it to where the players that are whales who want the stuff right here right now also satisfied because they are going to spend money hand over fist to get the packs they want right now and it will also open up F2P players to buy cosmetic items in the shop. It’s a win-win situation.

  • Whizbang the Wonderful for standard and unlocked for everyone, retroactively give the dust for players who already have it or crafted it. Look, this is card that when it was designed/shown off, I absolutely loved the ideal of it. If I’m a player that is F2P that has no idea what I want to play or just wants to have fun playing games, Whizbang allows for me to do that easily. Returning players get a free deck, cool. This card allows for players to play with 30 different decks to get a feel for what cards they may want to play with/around as well as investing their dust into a deck/card.

  • BGs & Casual Duels should offer dust/gold. This one explains itself. For BGs 1st place 500 dust, 2nd place 400 dust, 3rd 300 dust, 4th 250 dust, 5th 200 dust, 6th 150 dust, 7th 100 dust, 8th 50 dust. It makes playing something like BGs worth it in the end for more than just “ooh looky at my shiny rank”. For casual duels, Arena awards. I absolutely -HATE- investing 150 gold or a ticket into Arena for games, and coming out with 0 wins. It’s no fun, worth it, or even something I want to touch for achievements/quests. I will more than likely never play competitive duels because of it. I don’t care about the rewards that are available to me IF I “play well” or “deck build” properly when RNG can decide most of these games.

  • Speak openly and clearly about everything. Not everyone at Activision-Blizzard has to be a J Allen Brack (don’t even care if I spelled that f***ing slime’s name right) or Bobby Kotick. Just be open and clear about what you’re doing please.

Now to the community: these developers have a tight rope to walk. Due to Bobby “Man Who Doesn’t Care About These Developers” Kotick, they have jobs they have to keep to maintain roofs over their head, food, and necessities. To even eat at the company built in cafeteria , these developers have to pay money just to eat there. Think about that for a second. A company that YOU would work for FORCING you to pay money just to eat there when they could offer it for free due to the BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of dollars that the company takes in. Oh wait, that money has to go up to the CEOs who already have BILLIONS while some of you will lick the s*** covered boot clean that pushes on the neck on these human beings that are making your entertainment. Yes, these are real people that are making your little card game entertainment. So don’t even come at me for calling out your boot licking BS you tossers. As much as it pains them to have to do certain things they way they do, it’s not ALL of their fault. The CEO and Corporate bullocks they have to put up with just to survive is astounding.

That’s my feedback for the devs and a reminder to the community that the owners are the true evils you should be going after, not the developers themselves because they have to make a living.

Is it a joke what this guy just wrote? He really cheated all the players again, it doesn’t solve anything at all. The problems of the game are getting cards or you didn’t understand, I can confirm that there are 5 new players that are close to me said that they cannot get legendary and epic cards to play duel / ranked mode, except spending a lot of money to get this. I hope it doesn’t become a p2p game. I hope you make changes up front or you will lose audience.

The statement is worse than anything i could come up in my imagination. You really underestimate the average intelligence level of their playerbase.

You are telling you will implement bonus events which were normally rewarding on their own and present them like they are rewarding community with extras we never would recieve otherwise. Like the free legendary you incorporated into the battle pass. You will do the same for seasonal events.

I used to spend money for the game but i stopped a few expansions ago. Since it was not sustainable to have a good collection without spending a lot. Ofcourse my currency losing against dolar also didn’t help either. It was 1/2 at the start now it is 1/8 in conversion. If the game was more approachable i would still make purchases in game. The game requires like 300 dolar per year. And it is more than a month of minimum wage where i live. It is like 5 AAA titles worth of money normally. In addition regional prizing AAA titles in my country is about 30 dolars. I could get 10 “Cyberpunk 2077” like game instead of trying to be up to date in this game.

Anyway you definetely should reduce required amount of money to play this game. There are many good suggestions mentioned in hearthstone subreddit. Only thing that i would add to those suggestion is that regional prizing would also help with steady profit in regions with less valuable currencies. Steam and regional prizing killed piracy here. You could do the same. The developers of those games have a new market and steady income. Less is better than none. This also would increase total profit for Hearthstone and should reduce the stress of profit on whole playerbase.

If your problem is poor communication about future XP gains, how do you fix it by not telling us expectations for future XP gains?

The baseline system should be clear, rewarding, and engaging. It’s none of those things.
