Every week, we get some hero skins offered in the in-game shop, some of which are re-releases of older cosmetic skins. However, because of the huge total number of such skins in existence, hoping for a particular one to be re-released can take quite a while – years, even. I think the same issue is with card backs. There is a giant total number of them, and a lot of them get re-offered rarely, if at all.
However, the price on these skins tends to be reasonable, most of them are about ten dollars or under.
I was hoping to recommend that the next Black Friday sale that Bliz runs include a large selection of older Hearthstone hero skins and older card backs – at least those that Bliz CAN re-release. I am sure there are hero skins and card backs that any given Hearthstone gamer hopes to get a chance to buy. Especially if the price on them was reasonable, I hope the playerbase would not be put off by the re-offering.
In Overwatch, the Pink skin for Mercy was in circulation for a breast cancer charity for just a week, and everybody thought it was permanently gone and a LOT of OW gamers wanted it to be offered again, so literally a ton of people were very happy when it was re-offered in a repeat of the charity event, including with a recolor of the skin. If there’s a Hearthstone skin or card back that a given Hearthstone gamer wishes to have a chance to get, I think the effect might be the same. Getting the cosmetic item you always wanted for like 10 dollars is not bank-breaking, and if Bliz agreed to this thing, we would at least know that we DO have a chance at what we want. And Bliz would have a successful Black Friday event. I would argue, then, that everybody would get what they were hoping for.
Thank you very much for reading my recommendation and to Bliz for considering my request.
