Replace Casual format with "Custom" format

Lets us make custom game lobbies like in Halo.

But the devs don’t want players having any control over what deck they play against

Dangerous idea. It may be fun, without having to pay.

Personally. Id be happy to make a monthly donation for server costs if it was implemented well.

Y?

Unless youre on the dev team or overseeing them. Its bad taste to speak for them.

That would be fkn sick. Who knew a shaman player could have such a genuine good idea

Devs don’t want the players to actually have fun as well.

Why is it a dangerous idea? OMG if people are allowed to have a little fun.

It technically is custom, but also full of degenerate net decks.

More like unranked wild currently imho.

The idea is that we can customize all sorts of things. From banning groups of cards/classes to custom starting life totals/mana. Maybe even change parameters for victory, like racing to see who can zero thier life total first.

There’s nothing stopping you and your friends from making up fun rules for deck building and then playing against each other.

They’ll never make it where you can ban cards or classes unless you want to sit in a que for 10 to 15 minutes at a time waiting for one stupid game.

Schedules actually play a huge role in stopping us. Responsibilities and all, not to mention timezones.

If only i could make a custom lobby for anyone to join whenever they had time…

Or be able to see how many players are in that lobby before queing up.

Albeit, when you first make a lobby itll probably take some time to populate…if its even worth populating that is

Custom matchmaking translation “I want to be able to set up a match I’m guaranteed to win”

Or maybe find intersting created lobbies to freshen up this stale game.

And to answer the question you forgot to ask before your bold assumtion.

The first lobby i would make would be horde classes only with all the staples banned, starting with 4 mana and 20 health.

What kind of lobby would you make?

Nice thing about casual is you can concede until you get a matchup you want.

Whats your goal in this topic?

Convey to you that casual play is the same as custom being you can find the matchups you want by conceding to decks you don’t want to play against which would take less time than queuing up into a custom lobby that would take ages to start a game.

But its not even a close comparison.

Casual is unranked wild. Thats it.

Custom lobbies could be anything we wanted.

Apples and oranges.

Maybe youre not understanding that im not “looking for certain match-ups”

Yet I see standard decks all the time in casual. It’s the practice game mode for both formats.

Like someone said, if you want a game with custom rules go find a friend and challenge them.

And i would like to see it be turned into “custom game mode”, where a lobby called “standard practice” could be made or a lobby named “10000 health good luck” where we start with 10k health. Custom.
