I am very concerned how a card like Reno, Lone Ranger, impacts the game’s strategic depth. This type of card essentially encourages players to build decks with random non-duplicate cards, relying on a single powerful effect to turn the game. It reduces the complexity of deck-building and gameplay to a gamble, where success hinges more on luck than strategy.
This approach seems to undermine the need for thoughtful planning and synergy in deck construction. Not removing this card or introducing more like it will likely lead to a loss in player retention, as it erodes the strategic challenge that most players enjoy.
I assure you most decks that run Reno have a game plan, he is usually run when Arch-types like dragon druid(splish-splash whelp and other Strong dragons) don’t exist in a class or when duplication of effects exist(gift into growth/splish splash/New heights) so that his lack of consistence is non-existing
Reno druid is performing weaker then Dragon druid
Reno warrior is performing weaker then Odyn warrior(both control warrior arch types
He currently makes your deck worse, this is the third or fourth installment of these type of cards. I find this statement to be false, Hearthstone is not at an all time low in player count
It’s a great strategy to clear the opponent’s board when they got their win condition on there. If you don’t want your opponent’s Reno Lone Ranger to be what does you in, then i recommend highly that you have more than 1 win condition n don’t put em all on the board at the same time (if board-based of course).
Actually, if anything, Reno deck builders have to be VERY picky about which cards they include in the deck. There is no randomness to it. There are a few neutrals that every Reno deck will most likely include. After that, you have key class cards that you need for specific purposes and an actual win-con or two.
Perhaps in Standard. The card should be banned from Wild, as there is no drawback at all. The card simply does way too much.
But, were it up to me, lots of things would be banned, so there is that.
TBH Ranger isn’t even the worst. Team 5 ruined this game when they made class bleed a feature instead of a novelty.
I literally despise the idea and wish it would get flushed along with the entire highlander format.
Can’t believe I am seeing complaints about highlander cards in the current meta. These decks suck and reno arguably isn’t even good enough to prop them up anymore. Stop beating a dead horse.
Well, my complaints should not apply. I play in Wild and Reno there is a very different thing.
I really wish there were a Wild only discussion board, and I’ll bet plenty of others do too, if only not to read my comments.
No. It’s because they ramp mana. The deck is kinda overrated because it’s extremely weak against some aggro decks; it’s very defenseless for ~6 rounds usually; it may highroll its dragons to defend against them but the stars have to align very well.
