I don’t understand the thought process behind murlocs. How are they comparable to other minion types in battlegrounds?
They can easily buff up and get poisonous now, especially with the new quests. It’s an easy guarantee to get top 4 if not win every single game. It punishes anyone who decides to play anything else.
You don’t even need stats, just a golden 2/1 with deathrattle that gives 2 divine shields and 6 weak murlocs with poisonous.
It’s completely unbalanced and it’s ridiculous that once it’s available that game, everything else becomes a bad option.
This can easily be changed with removal of the murloc that gives poisonous. Murlocs are a strong enough type as it is, and giving only that type poisonous effect is too broken for the format.
One of the many things broken, i mean with the new quests, poison murlocs with full divine shields, beat that if you can. One more proof of the quality and how competent are blizzard developers nowadays
Tbh I’m not sure poison should even exist in battlegrounds. Dragons can do pretty well against murlocs if you get the card that gives all your dragons divine shield
I remember someone suggested Poison be replaced in battlegrounds with something like “Venomous” (Yes yes, I know, terminology and such but this was what someone else said) which would only last for one attack from the minion with it. So if you had two minions fight, one with “venomous” and the other with divine shield and the Venomous minion hit the Divine Shield minion then the divine shield would pop and the venomous minion would lose the Venomous effect and be unable to one shot the opposing minion.
Seemed like a good idea to me. Keeps the lethality of killing big health enemies but without poison being so oppressive when it is too easy to get.
An all murloc build generally won’t have divine shield on all their minions. They might have it on 1 or 2. In those cases, you set up leeroy to kill those. This is where your 2 for 1 trades come in.
I wish there was a way to have replays on BGs and I can show you the last few matches where I beat Poison Murlocs with Naga and Quillboar.
Better remove some of the quest rewards that make crazy things possible. Wonderous wisdom is fun when you get it but how is that good for the game and fun for the other players in the lobby?
No, the quests are actually fun and creates for some fun stuff, unlike what Buddies used to do.
Now, with Quests, it IS possible for anyone to get divine shield murlocs…but it’s also possible for other stuff to get things that are great as well…
My favorite is the quest that gives +4+4 to deathrattle minions when they die, especially when the quest to get them is have X minions die. Beasts and Mechs start getting crazy.
They create the uncontrolled “GOTCHA!!” kind of “fun” which honestly makes decisions nearly moot because your quest wins the game or it doesn’t. I know you like big things like that, but it’s antithetical to competitive play, which I enjoyed.
Quests have no balance and decide games. They have made an already fast meta faster.
I tried again today and noped right out again. Done with the mode and the game.
TFT is fun, though. Played a bunch of that lately.
Which quests do you not like? I’m not saying all quest lines and rewards are balanced, but the ones that are balanced are tons of fun.
The mode definitely needs balancing. I really don’t get how some heroes are obviously broken and some are just obviously bad. Ini Stormcoil is terrible. 12 MECHS have to die and you get a random one? Meanwhile, Funglmancer is just sell 4 minions and get a free murloc…which is lightyears better.
Doesn’t make any sense to me. Mode needs a lot of work, but I’m enjoying the quests.
I know you’re asking Selwynn but I think Stolen Gold is absolutely unacceptable in certain lobbies. Wisdom Ball is fun, but it is incredibly unhealthy no matter the lobby. Then there are just quest rewards that are straight up bad, and if you get them you’re way behind anyone who didn’t.
The balanced quests are, like you said, fun. Fine even. But there aren’t many of them and they’re really only balanced because they don’t do anything crazy.
Was one for one, then trade two for one, now nerfed to unplayable four. Tribe specific heroes are almost always fail without highroll start.
I don’t think it’s fun when I get a balance quest and three other people in my lobby get imbalanced quests and sweep the lobby by turn 8 or 9 from highroll bullspit.
But the quests themselves made hero choices less relevant as many of them are tuned to win the game on their own.
I stopped over 9k last time, but haven’t played much this time around. Remember, you’re matched by a hidden MMR so my rank and my lobbies aren’t the same. I’m still rolling high MMR lobbies even at low ranking.
Exactly. They’re so powerless as to be irrelevant, but all the relevant ones are so powerful as to be game breaking.
I had this on greybough this morning… lol, gg, y’all. Easiest first place ever playing beasts. My reborn taunt frog was 70/70+ just from sitting there.
That’s strange. I’ve never seen anyone use Stolen Gold in any BG yet, and I’ve been playing a lot. I can see where it would be fantastic on Tarecgosa. I think the quest line to get that is always bonkers. Like lose 5 games or something.
