Remove mage secrete counter spell they don’t need it in standard to op. On another note who the hell plays mage.

One of the most balanced classic cards. Easy to play around too with cheap spells. Mage got a lot of overpowered secrets like draw 3 cards if no damage was taken. counterspell is absolutely fine.

Plays around Counterspell: Gets punished by never wind portal
Plays around Neverwind portal: Gets punished by mage’s tempo and delaying your own strat
Plays around Flameward: Gets punished by Rigged faire game
Plays around Rigged faire game: Gets punished by flameward/vaporize

Counterspell is not a bad card, even if both copies are played. I’ll take a control mage here over a blue deck in Magic: The Gathering any day.

If he had all these secrets up, the problem was not counterspell.

There is no way to play around Counterspell, though.
Unless you got 1 specific card out of 1000.
