I think there is something here to consider, something that probably crossed many other players minds, which is to enable a setting that would auto-squelch the player and the opponent from using emotes, and in addition, an absence of mouse or thumb hovering to remove the effect of seeing your heroes face blink repeatedly, along with blinking minions and hero powers.
If there is no desire for the player and/or opponent to be taunted with often demeaning emotes, then why force the player to have to remember to squelch the opponent at the beginning of every game? Even if the opponent is squelched, why allow them to hover over your face, similar to a person reaching over and across the board to poke your head in a game of chess?
The end-result is not pretty. I for one literally smashed a portion of my keys off of my keyboard, then submitted to tearing my old laptop (rip) into two halves after my opponent thanked me for buffing his minion by fault of a revealed secret on the opening release of Titans.
I would assume that Iâm not the only person who feels theyâve lost a majority of their games due to their opponent using emotes to purposely piss them off. Not only is that not fun, itâs not fair that many players win most of their games when they use their emotes as a tactic to throw off their opponents emotions.
I understand that many players are excited to use their new emotes after an earned or purchased new hero. I understand that enabling a feature to block your opponents emotes would probably affect sales and profitsâŚ
But I donât feel comfortable having to dodge emotes in every game that I play. Although, it is by choice that I play on eleven separate accounts (one for each hero obviously) daily so that I can sneak my way into a pile of loot, I donât have the patience to evade myself from poor players that make multiple misplays, then talk trash through emotes just to rub it in my face that their Yogg Saron rolled highly.
Please consider the fact that emotes arenât necessary, are often used in a rude manner, and are outright an annoyance that some players would rather do without.
Iâm guessing thereâs some sort of mod or hack that can auto-squelch a playerâs opponent, but I donât believe in-game-add-onâs are following the rules. In fact, Iâd compare them running a bot, to be frank. Iâm not certain what Iâm asking for at this point; you guys will do what you gonna do.
