Book of Heroes decks have some cards with alternate art, and that could esily be used as a cosmetic for players to customize their decks with.
Examples include:
- Fireball -> Iceball.
- Fireblast -> Iceblast (Hero Power).
- Libram of Wisdom -> Libram of Wisdom (different art)
- Aldor Attendant -> Lordaeron Attendant
- Animal Companion -> Beast Companion (the beasts also change to animals from Outland, but with the same effects).
- Blink Fox -> Wink Fox (Pallette swap)
- In Formation! -> Intimidation
It would be a sad missed opportunity to just let this go, tbh.

they could sell alternative arts since the beggining and make crafting system or make pre sales cheaper.
Every week they could put an alternative art (not limited for time) of a card in the store for 5$
New arts new animation etc…

There an infinite number of ways to monetize the game WITHOUT having a negative effect on the actual gameplay, and there are many examples of such systems. But alas…

I wonder if the alt art will be a part of the rumored Classic set revamp. Hall of fame fireball and replace it with iceball. Hall of fame fireblast to replace it with iceblast.
Maybe also move starfall to priest so Tyrande can use her ultimate ability instead of Malfurion stealing it.
The Paladin Book of Heroes has better arts than the original cards. ‘-’
