I currently have a complete Classic set, and have been stock piling the classic packs I have won from Tavern brawls for some time (I’m up to 42 unopened classic packs), should I open them before the classic/core set change coming up? Or should I wait to open them after the change? I don’t care about getting golden versions of cards that will cycle out or cards that will cycle in. I saw the reddit thread titled “Unsure whether to open your Classic packs now? Maybe this infographic can help you to decide.” (https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/lh3fdx/unsure_whether_to_open_your_classic_packs_now/), and I could not find a good answer for this. Is it worth it for me to open my stockpiled classic packs now or later?
Take a bucket at home and throw all 42 boxes in a bucket in a black bag and forget about them.
If I could have physical classic packs I would see how much they would go for on eBay before doing that.
Soon, the classic packages will be garbage that will cost nothing. Just trash that you have to throw away somewhere with your old cards.
If that is the case then I will do some disenchanting to turn that trash into something useful.
You won’t get much dust for the cardboard.
That has been the case for 7 years.
Blizzard on Hearthstone is driven by outright hack work. The quality of the game has dropped. The quality of the game has turned into quantity. Removing the restrictions on tasks rolls Hearthstone into second-rate kki games.
If you have a complete Classic set (including the ones in Hall of Fame), then open them up. If you open them now or wait until the core set, it will make no difference, you’ll still have a complete Classic set. If you don’t have the ones that rotated out, I’d suggest you wait, but if you do, rip them open.
guys… instead of speculating and giving incorrect (and troll) answers you could just quote him what the official info says…
Classic packs will now add to your Collection for the Classic format, as well as the Legacy set in Wild. If you have Knife Juggler in your Collection, you’ll have two versions of it—one that can be used in Wild with 2 Attack and 2 Health, and one you can use in the Classic format as it was in 2014 with 3 Attack and 2 Health.
How do Classic Packs work with Standard now?
- Classic packs still contain Classic cards, which will now be usable in the Classic format and in Wild as part of the Legacy Set. Classic cards that aren’t part of the Core Set will not be usable in Standard. We’re adjusting the rewards for a wide variety of quests/achievements/etc. that previously awarded Classic packs to have Standard-usable rewards instead.
If you don’t own all the former Classic pack cards that are currently in the Hall of Fame (such as Ragnaros, Sylvanas, Molten Giant, Mountain Giant, etc.) then I would recommend waiting until the rotation/core set gets released.
If you own all the HOF cards that used to be in Classic plus have a complete Classic set, then it likely won’t make much difference. Either way, most of those cards will just be additional dust value.
Keep in mind that the Classic set will still be valuable for the new “2014 Classic” game mode/ladder system.
For me, I am missing about a dozen Classic epics and a few legendaries, but I will wait for the rotation (to open 15+ Classic packs) so I can avoid having to open Barrens Stablehand, Icicle, and Shadow word: Ruin which will get me closer to completing the original Classic set.
Where is the compensation for classic card sets? I don’t see the words compensation?
Personally, I am missing Molten Giants and some other Classic legendaries and epics that are in the Hall of Fame so I’m saving up the few Classic packs I get until rotation. If you open them after rotation, you have a chance to find whichever Hall of Fame cards you’re missing.
A friend is good news. I’ll be happy about it)
If you wait you will be able to open HOF cards after rotation.
If you plan to play Classic Hearthstone, wait.
Soon…They were like that years ago. Just dust crumb generators now.
