Did anyone received some compensations already?
Now the packs seemed to be fine but suddenly there appeared a common Tirion although I’ve got him in gold already… I don’t have all the legendaries yet.
After opening a ticket they answered two days later with some copy pasted stuff. It seems they didn’t even read the ticket…
I’ve almost put 4000$ into hearthstone and that was my first ticket…
That’s the ticket:

Hello,
I recently bought some classic packs after opening ~30 of them I realised that I didn’t got anything new out of them although there were a lot of cards missing when checking the cards inspector “classic” category. Now I’ve realized that the only cards I was missing where those from the old “timeless classics” set although you clearly put them in the “classics” category already they didn’t come up in your packs. Today I opened the left over packs and was happy as there finally appeared cards from the old “timless classics” category in them. But suddenly there was a common Tirion which I already got in gold. Because I’m still missing 4 Legendary cards from the classic sets there might be something wrong with your system again. Hope you can help.

Hello Benjamin,
Whenever a new expansion set is released, you are guaranteed to receive a Legendary card within your first 10 packs opened for that set, regardless of how the packs were obtained. Once you’ve received your first guaranteed Legendary, whether it came from your first, fifth, or tenth pack, further Legendary cards are subject to their normal rarity.
Additionally, any Legendary cards received from a pack will be a Legendary card from the same set that you don’t already own. This applies to the Classic packs as well as expansion sets. Once you own either the golden or non-golden version of a Legendary card, you won’t get a duplicate of it from packs until you own all the Legendary cards from that set.
I hope this helps out clarifying things for you and I wish you a great weekend - Stay safe! :)"
i don’t get the drama, why would anyone want hof cards, i mean they cost 0 to craft, even the golden cards
Everyone is talking about getting things like Sylvanas and Rag from the Classic packs. (Which you finally can now, but wasn’t working for a while after the rotation to the new Classic format.)
Those don’t cost 0 to craft.
There was only a tiny window when they were rotated where you could get your dust back after crafting them. That window has passed long ago for any cards that were added to the HoF.
People are reporting that they compensated for non Classic set cards being opened. Lots of different people.
Regarding your ticket. I understand what you are trying to say, but it’s not well worded. I am saying that as a former technical manager whose responsibilities included QA of technicians outside assistance requests.
I recommend you re write it again, post it here first for myself and others to QA you, and then send it to Blizzard.
Be concise and specific. Think that you are being charged by the word.
Stick to the bottom line.
What: I opened a Duplicate Tyrion
When: DDMMMYY
How: From a Classic pack
Requested Resolution: 1600 dust and removal of duplicate from my collection
Why: I am still missing and have never previously opened Nat Pagle and Lorewalker Cho
thanks for your advice.
You are right. I was worried about my english because I’m not a native speaker. I really should have been more specific. But nevertheless, the gm’s answer sounds like he didn’t even cared about reading it anyways.
That is what I answered him 2 hours ago:
““once you own either the golden or non-golden version of a Legendary card, you won’t get a duplicate of it from packs until you own all the Legendary cards from that set.”
But I’ve got a common Tirion while I already had him in gold while I didn’t had all legendaries from classic…”
as I read it, I just noted how I screwed up again. Hope he understands it anyway otherwise I’ll follow your advice.
Your English is fine.
I am not a native English speaker myself and I was correcting native speakers all the time. And there were also native speaker supervisors reviewing it before it got to me.
which means it cost 0
Thank you.

Yes, I’ll believe you immediately.
My question for you: That golden Tirion card you have, is it part of the Core Set? If it is, then technically you don’t own Tirion and you never got him in a pack previously, so it makes sense that he can show up in a pack.
Cards in the Core Set don’t actually belong to us and they don’t have any effect on duplicate protection.
I’ve got him long time ago from packs, if that matters. I am able to disenchant him inside my classic collection while in the core colletion I can’t.
Yes, it does matter. You shouldn’t have gotten him again in that case.
I lack 3 legendaries from the new classic collection.
I should have got these before right? Or do I miss something here?
I never would have thought there is an error on blizzards side but as they messed up beforhand it got really likely.
These cards have never been available from packs and are only available from crafting.
If you disenchanted Edwin for his full dust cost earlier this year he’s still considered part of your colleciton for duplicate protection purposes.
WoW… Thanks, that makes sense.
Is there a reason for that? I mean, they got merged and are now officially part of the classic set, so they should come with “classic” packs in my opinion… At least they could warn us.
Northshire Cleric, Divine Spirit and Vanish are also not available in Classic packs afaik.
I’m not certain of the reasoning, but I imagine it has to do with the fact that they just weren’t part of that set originally. I agree that Blizzard communication leaves a lot to be desired.
The reason is because they went ahead with duplicate protection at all rarities.
Therefore if they didn’t, you could DE nerfed cards and force the next pack into having extra copies that you can DE at full cost. Then DE again, and force the next pack to have more copies of the nerfed cards. If they nerfed 2 Common cards, you would be netting over 200 dust for each pack.
