The thing about most card games is that they have trading involved I though of that as an idea for hearthstone, and will go into detail on how it will work.
The first basics on it is that friends could trade cards with each other.
Cards traded would have to be equal rarity
People could only trade if they had a battle.net account for 6 months to a year (more details further down)
It would be simple as that, friends could look at friends collections and make a trade request with what ever cards they were trading while the other could either accept the request or deny it. The reason for the month / year requirement is so people don’t instantly make fake accounts so they can trade away bad cards for good cards. That’s about it for the idea, let me know what you all think.

i think that if hearthstone doesn’t earn money = bad idea (for them) = not implemented
Edit: for me it’s a good idea because it ennoy who have paid :)))))
Still glad you liked the idea
On first sight it sounds like a good idea and I myself have so many bad Legendaries, I’d like to trade them for some useful cards, BUT on the flip side you could easily make lots of new accounts, just do the tutorial, climb from rank 50 to 25 and receive up to ~44 packs.
Now you just wait half a year, do your quests and buy 10 packs of each expansion to get at least 1 Legendary.
After half a year of waiting, you just trade the good Legendaries from your alt account for bad ones on your main account.
I know you have to put a lot of effort in this, but I feel like hearthstone would easily have 200 mio. “active” accounts then.
dust = solution to get specific cards = trading not required
The game would be better with trading, but Blizzard learned the hard way that as soon as there is potential for some lame-o third world scammers to make a few bucks by performing wholesale industrial account exploiting and other thefts, they will start immediately and not cease until the end of time.
So the only choice is that nothing of value can leave an account. It’s too bad this was ruined for the actual players but you can’t argue with the results – compare the constant assaults on say WoW gold and other assets (plus in game farming bots, constant spam wanting your real world money for in game services, etc.) vs. the much quieter Hearthstone scene.
Unfortunately this trend is only going one way and probably for all of gaming.
Still kinda hard to get dust seeing as you only get 1/4 the value from cards (except Goldens)
However I can see this becoming a problem so a system could be implemented to try and stop it, but I highly doubt it would work well enough in the end.
Nothing is ever as “simple as that”. You have another objective that you are not mentioning here, or are trying to avoid being clear about. Whenever someone says “It is as simple as that.” they are trying to manipulate something in their favor, trying to move the conversation in the direction of their own agenda.
So tell us, what is it exactly that you hope to gain in all of this? Be honest, I will know if you are lying, because I already know what you want. I just want to see if you can be honest about it.
The main issue I can see is, there are some cards including legendaries that are just not usable. Chances are if people are looking for trades, they will want to get rid of their unusable legendaries for something better. How many people will give up a Dr.Boom for The Beast? You would have to be interested in some very offbeat decks to really make use of it or hope your friend just doesn’t ever want to use their legendary that you want.
The other things is as people have said, it would incentivise people to make alernate accounts as they get lots of freebies, then trade their collection over thus circumventing the need to really buy packs. You would need a heavy restriction on how many cards could be traded for this to work
There is no way they could adequately restrict it to keep people from multi-boxing.
1 trade per account per year? “Fine, I will make thousands of accounts, I will trade 1 card from each account then abandon that account forever.” 1 per 5 years? 1 trade per account for a lifetime? They are all the same.
There is no restriction they could come up with that would keep a trading system from being exploited.
It might work if this was a subscription game or otherwise restricted to people who pay up front. But having a free to play model just won’t cut it. They would have to make it so that it is cost prohibitive to make multiple accounts. Want to trade a card? Well, first you have to pay 50 dollars to open up a new account… Hope that card is worth 50 dollars!(LOL)
But now we are talking about changing the game entirely, from the ground up. Making this game pay to play is impossible. They would lose the majority of people who play the game in an instant. And free to play players are potential paying customers. Kick them out, you go broke.
And those cats who are here complaining about “I am a free to play player and this game is pay to win!”… Yeah, they are in the EXTREME minority. They are loud though, aren’t they.
So that is about the only way trading could work. They would have to make the game pay to play.
I am not trying to manipulate anyone nor is my “agenda” to do some sort of bot / multiple accounts to benefit (cause I know that’s what you thought) and I just happen to say “it’s simple as that” sometimes. I expected people to disagree / agree with my idea, but I was not expecting some random guy to accuse me of trying to manipulate something in my favor. So thank you for making me waste my time have to deal with you.
Can you name a living card game that has trading, freebies and multiaccount at the same time?
Well, that is unfortunate for you. This means there are now only two options. You are either short on common sense, because you could not understand why trading is not and will continue to not be in this game. OR you are trying to suggest a course of action that will benefit you under the right circumstances, that being a multi-box scam scenario.
So which is it? Are you daft or are you trying to be manipulative?
I’m more a person who was coming up with an idea and did not expect to meet a total dickwad who was assume some grand conspiracy was going on
Also from your reply on the other post, if you are indeed venting out steam, bother someone else, I don’t need people like you being dicks to me, just so you can vent off some steam
nah what he said is right.
Trading can’t happen, period lol
also you said nono word lol
HS is making less money than ever - they will never allow it.
I understand he is right however insulting me about it is not needed
I understand it may seem harmful but we here at Hearthstone Forums Inc. get a lot of idiots saying idiotic things, so we get desensitized to the stupidity sometimes.
The idea he is trying to construe is that trading is not a good idea, and I am sure he doesn’t not hold these hard feelings for you.
Thank you for calling Hearthstone Forums Inc., have a great day!
Venting steam? You don’t know anything about that. I might have come to forums 5 years to vent steam. I am a little advanced for that.
