Seriously, fix the midrange garbage by either adding 10 addition hp, remove the useless cards, make tokens not do damage, nerf arcane cannon or all of the above.
It’s so retarded that trying to win the game loses you rating…
or you can try and improve your gameplay and not force tribes early on
You sound like another Bob… 1 of him is too many already
seriously some good advice here. i had to take it myself; STOP trying to force tribes early. literally think about what minion is biggest/best this round and DON’T WASTE GOLD ROLLING until after turn 9. just take THE BEST STUFF you can. even if it’s ghoul and swabbie.
just take it if it’s the best and live to another round. the game WILL give you what you need and a comp will just form on its own. i really wish someone had told me this early on when i started playing BGs so my rating would be higher.
trying to win does not lose you the game unless you’re trying to win from turn 1 with a low tiered hero - that is NOT the right mindset. winning is top 4, taking first is the ultimate goal but will NOT be possible every game.
if you are eudora and your turn 6 golden salty gives you a grubber YEP you should be playing to win; if you get wagtoggle and your lobby has a eudora, maiev, kael - better get as strong as possible and focus on top 5.
It doesn’t…
thats because you are already tunnel visioned on a specific strategy instead of adjusting based on whats offered
Dude, I’m fluxuating between 8 and 11k rating. When the pirate patch hit, my rating plumtied to 7k, because the game is just too random. Every single game is the same. 7 people go for mid range and 1 person high rolls and win. There is no in between. The game is cancer! Instead of Blizzard fixing the problem, they nerfed Goldrin for no reason, now we literally only have a single 5 star winning build. You can’t play dragons, because you need Kalecgos, you can’t play beats, because you need Baron and Goldrin, you can’t play menagerie or demons, because Lightfang and Watcher are so slow to scale. What is left? Mech, which is mid range, Saurolisk, which is a mid range, Gold grubber, which is together with arcane cannon are the most contested cards in the game and what else? Random crap that would get you alive to 5 star so that you can find a build in 2 turns? What happen 90% of the time, when you don’t find one, because there is too much garbage cards and you only roll 5 at a time? You just lose! So what’s the solution? Play cannons and jugglers and once you hit 4th place concede, get 10 points and start again? HOW IS THAT FUN?
Don’t give me useless advice, when you have no clue how the game is played!
Before the pirate patch, I found I could stick to 1 or 2 strats and I’d climb without issues. Since pirates I’ve had to have 4 or 5 different strats to transition to after tier 3. Took me a while to adjust but I felt exactly how you do at the time.
Not saying it’s the same cause but honestly once I stopped fighting it things became a bit easier again.
Still won’t stop playing Reno or building exodia! I don’t care how much I lose doing it.
The games is really not fun now. You just pray to the gods to avoid fighting heroes when they are strong (eudora on 7 gold, ect.) and avoiding people highrolling to build a midrange comp and hope for a highroll.
How is that fun when it’s turn 5 or 6 and you just face a guy who found 4 triple and hit you for 25?
Half the games you are basically dead before making any decision.
I took third with a flamethrower build yesterday…with Daryl, hahahaha.
You take what you get and have fun. It’s a game.
What you get is garbage, majority of the time. That’s what I’m coplaining about. The last time the game had any sort of consistency was during the amalgam days, because it was a 2 start card that every build benefited from it.
That is the issue. You are barely making any decision past the Hero selecting screen. If you want to climb you have to play like a bot. There were complaints how rigid leveling was before. Swabbie was great addition to shake it up a bit but as it is right now it doesn’t really helps.
Well…there has to be players who lowroll and players able to highroll.
We need the luck to be the most important factor because the games might take way longer if you wouldnt be hit for 20+ dmg in midgame.
So yea - sometime you take what you get and get 1st with god murloc build, sometime you take what you get and get mauled on t4 for 20+ dmg.
Dont be selfish. We need players that lowroll hard.
There is a large chance that you are missing something about what you are being offered and how the cards can work together.
Amalgam was easy mode for sure, but it was too easy mode because that single card was game breaking. The current meta takes more thought and recognition of less than obvious synergies to survive to the late game.
The goal then is to turn the “garbage” you see into treasure…like turning daryl into a flamethrower build and sneaking into third with what should be garbage.
Try new things, watch some streams, use the time you have each turn to think about plays before you pull minions or refresh.
Not to say there isn’t tons of rng, highrolling isn’t real, and none of it matters. Just suggesting you might be overstating how those impact the difference between sixth and third.
Swabbie can be an incredible card tbh. Everytime I have 2 swabbies early, I end up tripling it and getting to lv 3 earlier than everyone else with a tier 3 minion.
There are some minion you disdain for a while an suddenly realize their incredible potential. Like Khadgar and Cat/murloc giving easy triples.
It’s back… with buffs… and I just watched someone destroy a Lobby with it early thanks to Shifter… this minion(Shifter) is the equivalent to the 0 on a roulette wheel. It tips the balance of win rates just enough to be annoying as hell when it hits.
No, I’m not missing anything.
Does it? I don’t think so, when 3/4 late game builds are unplayable, you can either go murlocs, or random 4th place build. Not much thought needed there.
Streamers are lierally playing on new accounts, because the game on 8k+ rating is cancer.
totally agree. Last two games I went for beasts and dragons because that’s what bob kept throwing at me. Levelled up to six.
Didn’t get Kalecgos or Goldrin from multiple rolls or from any triples. Managed to finish top 4 both times but can you guess what the other 3 players in the top 4 were?
huge buffed murlocs with DS and poison.
The fact that a 5 star and 3 star minion gives 2 minions of the tribe you are building is a joke. The amount of incidental buffs that they can get means they can also outstat late game if not killed off quickly enough. +2/+2, +1/+1, 0/+3, poison and now with alamagan (sp) they can also just grab any and all. +2/+4 taunt+ds is always a bonus for them and doesn’t hurt their comp in any way.
I really really want the HS team to explain why beasts got hit with a nerf stick while murlocs got left alone completely and even buffed because they can discover alamgan from the previously mentioned discover a murloc card.
Clearly you are.
Well, people are consistently beating you…if you think the only reason you lose is RNG then you have no control over the situation and should just uninstall.
um, okay. I am not having the issues you describe.
I don’t like the meta, but you’re tilted pretty hard about it.
Hope you figure something out or uninstall before you make yourself sick.
Because I’m trying to win the game and not just place in top 4. Because I try to play actual late game archetypes, that 75% of which are unplayable, especially after Goldrin nerf, that was absolute nonsense! Because Dragons need not 1, but 2 six star cards to function! Because Lightfang has no reason to still be +2/+1. Because murlocs are the only viable winning build and are stupidly contested every single game!
I went from 11k to 8k, by trying to win the games I play in. The moment I switch to mid-range builds, I went back to 10k with 20 consecutive top 4 placments. The game is that easy to rank up and at the same time that cancerous to play. When you are on 3 stars rolling cobolts, cannons and soul jugglers, hitting people for 15+ on round 6, yeah, we have cancer on our hands!
