I feel like if your teammate on duos is not playing for more than 4 turns it should automatically give you the choice to leave not 10 turns in and there still in the match and no lets just leave because you lose points like come on now punish us players that actually want to play just to put somone that dont care into the match… losing mmr for someone else being stupid.
Usually players stop play when their teammates play like very stupid persons and there is no chance to win anyway and it is not worth to spend time with such teammates and it is better to make a cup of tea of coffe instead of trying to survive while your teammate is doing something completely stupid.
There are no punishment for being stupid, so there should be no punishment for leaving such teammates alone
And there are other cases: disconnections and bugs.
Personally I experienced few times when I was disconnected suddenly (while my internet connection was absolutely ok btw), the game was reloading… reloading… reloading… and that’s all, I saw that “reloading” screen and nothing more. I could not even concede to save my teammate’s mmr. Sometimes I was really ready to do it, bc my teammate was good and did not deserve to lose, but it was impossible to do anything.
tldr “people who don’t play as i would are stupid so i quit” is why we need a report partners button. if people are reported fairly ban them. if people report others unfairly ban the reporters for wasting dev time. today i had a guy bought and sold a mob round one. and 2. and 3. upgraded. used spells on 2 cards from different families boosted with spells to be pretty good. next round sold them. playing by myself i had undead with deathrattle give +4.4 permanently on right most guy and +1.1 and +2.2 permanent on avenge 2 and was headed to second place. one team out already and i felt i would defeat one more… THEN my partner started buying demons and spells that took life until we died in 3rd. if you dont like my play/ your trinkets / your boss choice/ the choice of minions or the weather outside IRL Leave the game. why waste someone else’s time.
And you think it is enough for second place? +4/4, +1/1 and +2/2. While mechs and elems can have +100 or more every turn.
You teammate probably tried to save the situation and risked: demons (like elems and mechs) are powerful now (all of them will be nerfed soon), while undeads are unplayable.
It resembles me the situation when my teammate asked me to give him Rivendare. I did. It affected negatively my tempo, but I had a very good teammate in my previous game and I was in good mood and full of belief and hope. I thought that my new teammate had some cunning strategy with deathrattles in mind.
Then the only deathrattle on his or her board was +4/3 for a beast. During the whole game. 4th place ofc.
And it was not the case of strategy and bad luck: after getting Rivendare he or she proudly put a sign on that one deathrattle on the board to show me how Rivendare was used. Wow, +4/3 buff, such power!
he started at turn one. and Maybe at your level of 12k undead are unplayable but at 4 k right now i get wins all the time with it. +4/4 every time my 6 deathrattles die with rivendar + reborn is 50 /50 + or better every round THEN +3/3 to all my other minions each time 2 die. with them getting mummy x2 with reborn i had 200 /200 on one 60/60 everyone else when others were at 40/40 other then the number one guy playing pigs. this wasn’t end game yet only just after second trink.
It is even more OK. Demons are powerful from the very start and when your hp + armor is high you usually avoid a lot of damage just bc of winning by the cost of damaging yourself with demons. Then it is usually possible to find demons that prevent damage.
My level is 6k now and 7k in the last season. It is low, but enough to see undeads as unplayable.
I think the late game is exactly the game after the second trink, so if you had such small buffs, you probably had no chances to win. Elems, mechs, demons are able to gain +100 and more every turn after the second trink. And +100 is no more than average, sometimes somebody lucky has smth like +1000 every turn after the second trink.
I would prefer a teammate who risks and picks powerful demons without having smth to prevent damage (at the very start it is not even a high risk, bc there are high chances to find smth later) than a teammate who picks undeads and believes that small buffs will help after the second trink
