Patch notes for 32.2 Rules changes

Thought i would drop this here. There are some fundamental rules changes that might effect the meta. The big one being how Briarspawn was changed and buffed(no longer random) along with Dark Gifts being buffed.

The Birarspawn Drake buff makes me shake my head. Cliff Dive and Briarspawn Drake are both strong enough as is.

I don’t get why it’s considered a rule change and not a fix that end of turn effects are no longer randomly ordered with only a specific card

I think it’s pretty clear they want the Cliff dive + Briarspawn interaction to be a meta p[layer. Making it guaranteed now will likely have that deck switching back to using Bria’s again now that is guaranteed face dmg.

No that I understand
But why wasn’t it considered as a bug at first ?
Every end of turn effects respect the first in/first out rule
Every time there’s an exception it’s admitted to be a bug, or at least a very niche interaction like minion transformation
So why didn’t cliff dive introducing randomness in the end of turn effect order was not considered a bug ? That’s the thing I don’t get

Well…

When i Tell blizzard many times utterly lie people act like it’s conspiracy.

This is How It Works:

You think people like the change?
Make entire patches on It and quote some random reedit BS so people not even question because they Will be too narcisistic to do so.

You think they don’t like:
Then It is a “bug fix”.

Not First time and Will not be the last.

I still remember they “bugfixing” lightshow 6 months later when the interaction with roomath would have made It a decent meta player if fixed during it’s release.

Wasnt the fatesplitter also a blatant example of this? Back when shaman abused it with from de other side and players went “wait, fatesplitter copying the spell back to hand because it died cant be intented” and blizzard claimed for months it was intended. And then suddenly it wasnt anymore.

The fix makes sens in the sens that fatesplitted doesn’t die from De Other Side but from the minion it attacked
Do you recall seeing the old behavior officially stated as intended somewhere ?

Yeah keep repeating that to yourself.

I dont understand why they would want briarspawn to consistently attack when summoned by cliff dive. If anything, they should have coded it to never attack at the end of turn because it should be shuffled before that effect triggers.

Why buff one of the best decks in a balance change with no nerfs? XD. I just am not seeing the logic of the design team.

Also dissapointed they didnt change ancient of yore to resummon as a 5/1 instead of going dormant again when given reborn. The dormant mechanic is supposed to trigger when played from hand, not on deathrattle.
A 2 card 30 armor combo is not really a great experience

Reborn blatantly states “When this minion dies reSUMMON it…” a minion that has dormant goes dormant when summoned, so…

Edit: Also why a reborn minion triggers Bayfin Bodybuilder’s ability

Reborn says “resummon with 1 health” not resummon as dormant with full health…
If nothing else, they should at least go dormant as a 5/1.

Ancient of yore in warlock when combo’d is “Draw 6 cards, gain 30 armor, summon 3 5/5s” that’s an insane amount of value on an interaction i do not believe was intended to function the way it currently does.

I’m scratching my head as to why the Starship Launches were made completely random. Kind of a weird change right now to be honest.

I expect designer patch notes and insight into a change like that to be honest. They really want that to be a thing i guess.

I just recently made a xl tourist shaman deck,
half pirates, half big
and when I used cliff dive I summoned the Lich King and Ysharj,
and i was quite disappointed that they didn’t activate their final of turn effects before returning to the deck, does this change fix this?

This is just a guess but based on the wording now of “Time Stamp Order” i would say yes. However, we know they aren’t always consistent with rulings so after the patch see if it works to verify.

I want a shakeup of the Standard meta, because I got bored of it. The only change I see is probably even more boring than not having the change because it’s practically older cards being better.

Eg pala moved away from Ursol and it’s better with just pirates and lynessa (no expensive cards at all), and the best dk decks appear to be some simplistic old basic low cost decks.

I should keep repeating to myself to ask you for a source ?

That’s all a matter of interpretation and semantic.

First the minion are summoned. On summon they enter the list of end of turn effects.
Once they are summoned, cliff dive registers its end of turn effect.
As written, it’s what is to be expected, because the minions are summoned before the effect “They go back at the end of your turn”

If it was not dormant+end of turn effect but a deathrattle instead, the only difference would be a 5/1 instead of a 5/5, I don’t really get what the commotion is about

They mentioned for the longest time it was intended and refused to change the card despite people complaining about the deck being obnoxious as well as the card not following its own rules.

Fatesplitter was a weird one. And blizzard changing it after such a very long time despite being aware of how the card behaved makes me think it was one of those situations where blizzard just caved in after months of complaints and had to change it.

That I get but I was curious to see said mentions
But I wouldn’t be shocked, they waited for years to change the interaction between the Soularium and Jeklik. We thought it was an intended interaction and suddenly out of nowhere “oh btw we fixed that”

I’m forseeing a nerf coming for Lynessa, either higher cost or the effect having a limit per turn, or both
