Patch notes for 32.2 Rules changes

I played big tourist shaman for a while and yasharag always pulled from the deck when cliff dived out…if it doesnt now, then something changed in the past few months

You think we can’t read? :grinning:

Well, most on these forums can’t, really, but that still sounds like projection. :grinning:

Yes. The biggest one being that for once some game rules have been acknowledged or documented officially… even though they look like they were borrowed from the community wiki (re zone transtition etc). :grinning:

A bug fix of sorts counting as the big rule change? I don’t think so.

Go on and play it, then. I’ll see how you’ll fare, especially when they sit in your hand as dead cards. Oh, yeah, it’s definitely a skill issue. :smirk:  Some self-annointed (official ™ Blizz spelling) pundits talk of some ‘high skill cap’ in such cases — probably a reference to dunce caps they’re used to (or should be) wearing.

The reason Cliff Dive DH is so much better with pigs, in my opinion, is that, among other things, it’s substantially more resistant to such skill issues and has some back-up plans for various hands. Briarspawn Drakes to the face are probaly for one-trick luckards.

By whom?

I somehow got the idea the developers were looking into it.

Yep, something like that… Unless there were some sloppy coding and they neglected it. :grinning: Mostly thinking about Mercenaries (back in the day, yes), but they apparently used similar rules there for end-of-turn effects.

That’s a good point, by the way.

Have you tried waiting for the patch to actually be launched? :grinning:

What? Have you undestood what you’ve written yourself? :grinning:

A card called ‘Eternal Layover’, I think. ‘Reborn’ minions should return with 1 health.

Zone is an official word they don’t use very often, but the wiki sources itself on the article of patch 12 iirc when they changed the zone transition and enchantement resets mechanics

By the people that wrotte the patch note and did not categorize that change as a bug fix…

I do but you clearly didn’t

If instead of [dormant + gain 5 armor and draw a card at the end of a dormant turn], the minion read “deathrattle : gain 10 armor and draw 2 cards”,
at the end of the day, destroying an ancient with “reborn. Deathrattle : summon 2 copies of this”, in both cases you end up with 30 new armor, 6 new card draws and 3 bodies, only one is a 5/1 instead of a 5/5
In one case it’s 3 dormant minions with an effect delayed on 2 turns, in one case it’s 3 minions that have to die, but you still get the full effect in both cases
People are arguing that the new ancients shouldn’t be dormant when summoned like that so they don’t give extra armor and draw because it’s “not normal that they are dormant when not played from hand”

Oh?

That sounds like ‘back in a different era, when a completely different developer team had some idea what they were doing’. :grinning:

Alright, but gotta say, those patch notes have been notoriously bad :grinning: , many or at least some imported changes often not documented at all, documented poorly and so on — there’s that.

If I read it correctly, the guy (Hegemonkey) reported an apparent bug that an AoY with the ‘reborn’ tag is resummoned as a (dormant) 5-5, not (an also dormant) 5-1 (I don’t remember whether it’s the case and haven’t verified it, though). My post above, quoting the relevant part, was focused on that bit, really — have you noticed that particular issue?

As for the discussion along the lines, what if AoY were reworked — okay, I get it, it can be discussed, but that’s a separate question, which I haven’t really addressed, sorry (and I can’t say I’ve formed a definite opinion on this balance issue — mostly thought about bugs).

Personally I’m not a big fan of briarspawn drake as a win condition. Its only purpose is to be cheated out 4 or 5 turns early. And there are about five different classes that have abused it. Priest, warrior, and demon hunter aren’t the only ones who have been using it, they just managed to use it the best. It bothers me that team 5 seems to want to encourage MORE briarspawn blowouts rather than less.

It’s obvious that you didn’t read my comment, you just scanned it quickly, I said I played it recently, like 2 weeks ago, not yesterday.

Ugh… I suppose I could only repeat it: have you tried waiting for the patch to actually be launched? :grinning:

It is then that you could actually play-test it properly, and there’d be something substantial to discuss. Or are you just ‘theory-crafting’, because ‘I can wait no longer’? :grinning: I find it a bit premature, but if you’re so curious or anxcious — the imminent fix should theoretically address your use case, but, once again, remains to be seen whether their actual implementation does fix it, thus — gotta wait for the patch and all.

Why do I have to elaborate on such obvious matters? :grinning:

I know what you mean but maybe someone understood the notes better or wants to speculate…

Let’s not pretend that your answer is not condescending (for not say useless) and can lead to misunderstandings…

You have some DEEP personal issues for sure. Perhaps seeing a therapist would help you out?

I simply posted the notes because it was a significant change. You do realize not everyone sees and reads the patch notes they put out? What exactly am i projecting? It must be sad living a life where a conspiracy is around every corner.

Well…

I don’t mind briarspawn If you ask.

They for sure hit hard but are also easy to remove.
My only real problem with then is when priest pair It with zarimi.
Thing being that back in the day everyone knew zarimi would need to be nerf into Oblivion one day and the own zarimi combo itself is half of the requirement.

That day Just has come and people are being delusional about it.
Naralex with 2 briarspawn still a high Burst damage on a deck that has basically a bit of everything.

Can people Just accept that the time of the card has come and play a more board centric game with a deck that has that capacity?
Thanks.

How many times did this happen to you? Is it possible they got a Dark Gift on it? There’s a dark gift giving reborn mechanic to minions and it reads (summons with full HP and keeps all the enchantments and effects)

Pretty sure that’s the only logical explanation, I’ve killed that minion reborn a gazillion times, it spawns with 1 hp normally

Is there somewhere in the rulebook that states when a choose one spell is changed into a minion (via hagatha) it loses the choose one effect?

Because it does with that 5 mana spell which is disappointing.

When a minion learns a spell, it follows the rules of spells being cast at random, only you are allowed to select an initial target for targetted spells (if you’ve selected an illegal target for the spell, it’s gonna try to find another legal one, and will blank if there’s none)
When you cast a spell at random, you don’t get to chose anything for it, including the choose one effect, so I’d say it follows the established rules so far

You know i went on that rant, but the card im actually thinking of is the 3 mana warlock one that gives a minion deathrattle, summon two dormant copies(not reborn).

I still hate this interaction because it makes Ultimate Infestation, one of the craziest druid cards, look tame in comparison lol

It seems to always cast the taunts from the spell as opposed to the windfury eagles… also I would imagine it goes against the ‘spirit’ of hagatha which was to create an exact copy of a spell that provided a stat body.

I personally think its an oversight as I doubt they ever thought about hagatha and choose one spells when initially conceiving it. I doubt anyone on earth but me has ever played the card so I’m sure if it is a bug its one of the lowest priority ones in hearthstone history.
