Patch Notes are Out!

Called the Druid nerf (as did most people). However, it’s weird they just stopped there.

I said Theotar didn’t need a nerf, but rumors were they were going to touch it. Looks like they decided not to touch it, which I agree with. The card isn’t busted despite all the complaints.

Mage nerfs are weird, didn’t see those coming.

Rogue nerf was easily predicted. I don’t know why people thought Edwin would stay the way he was after the buff.

Starfish nerf is surprising, but maybe they think that will help Paladin? No clue. Seems like a weird nerf choice.

Quest Hunter nerf is long overdue.

Kael nerf makes 100% sense…except now ONLY druid can do it reliably…which is dumb. This might just end up being a Druid buff.

School Teacher and Paladin buff…sure ok, but that’s so insignificant I can’t see it helping.

But most importantly…

…they didn’t say they fixed the bug with the exclamation mark on achievements!!! PLEASE SAY THIS IS FIXED.

You wish it was that easy.
They needed 2 months to fix tyrantus, this exclamation point bug will probably take another week or two

Yeah, the thing is that in an effort to make the metagame more diverse by nerfing top classes, all they’re doing is pushing out classes they previously had to bump up. Somehow, ironically, they’re making the metagame less diverse.

Does Guff now give the Excess Mana card if you’re already at full mana? I suppose that can’t really happen with the Battlecry (unless you play a 2nd Guff at 20 mana which I’d bet on has happened literally 0 times), and it really doesn’t matter with the Hero Power, but still curious.

Would it make a difference (do they have the nature tag?)
Since the heropower can draw, even if that’s the case it seems not impactful

I agree. Mage needed nerfing, but I would have hit the skeletons hard.
Of course Team 5 wont do that because those are new cards and they wanna milk them all they can for sales.
I was surprised they actually hit the location.

The Standard changes might be minimal but holy carp, those Duels changes are huge.

The nerf in the location is huge to Skeleton Mage if you add that to the nerf to Dawngrasp things arent looking good for that deck.

The most popular lists were already dropping Deathborne the deck looks more like a Ping Mage deck then a Skeleton Mage.

I have a feeling that only BSM will be a tier 3 deck in the class going foward(wishful thinking) everything else welcome to the dumpster.

Were probably going to see less 40 health decks too.

Kael’thas died for the sins of Denathrius.

Yeah well, that’s on the genius who thought printing him while Brann is in standard was a good idea. One wasted legendary spot.

No, Kael’thas is 100% the right card to remove from the interaction. The issue is that they didn’t remove him from the interaction for Druids – they slowed him down by one turn only.

Nerfs were merely a setback!

LOL no way… welp they literally catered to the fanboys crying and made druid boyz even more proud.

So basically they killed the ability of anyone besides druid or classes that can reduce card mana cost(DH/Warrior) to use the Brann/Kael/Den cheese. I don’t see the Guff “nerf” accomplishing anything, so druids will just continue to do the disgusting stuff they do. They should have just outright removed Brann and/or Kael from standard and gutted Guff. Haven’t we suffered enough?

The only nerfs that surprised me were the hits to Starfish and Quest Hunter. I’m fine with both, but didn’t really hear much outrage over Starfish atm. It makes sense as a powerful neutral minion that could be played for tempo that shut down a lot of board-based decks. Now it feels more like a true tech card, which is much healthier imo. Quest Hunter has evaded nerfs for so long that I gave up on it ever getting an actual nerf. Despite people on here saying it’s only 1 spell slower, that can sometimes mean the difference between winning and losing for that deck. Hopefully it’s impactful enough to keep Quest Hunter in the lower Tier 2, upper Tier 3 echelon of the meta.

The Kael’thas nerf was pretty predictable, but like you said it doesn’t remove the Denathrius/Brann combo from Druid. Meaning, Ramp Druid will look largely the same as before but with a worse version of Guff.

If you play Mage im surprised you didnt see the nerfs coming, if we go by balance change history this was inevitable if anything the nerfs the class got was the best outcome.

You had lunacy claims about nerfing Flurry, Solid Alibi, Parrot,Balinda and totaly destroying Dawngrasp with mana increase / reverting the Wild Fire interaction/Hero power starting at 1 etc.

If you are going to main Mage you re going to need a thick skin to nerfs because they are common.
Be glad the lunatics were proven wrong and didnt get what they wanted.

thick skin you say?? pretty bold statement that you should be using against the players who could not play around it claiming absurd claims here on this forum but then again i can clearly see what type of players we have within these forums and its not making it any better at all.

btw i’m just laughing here because this is going to be a huge comedy show for the remainder of this expansion. no ‘‘thick skin’’ needed here for me just something for the pain in my stomach of the constant laughing im prolly gonna do.

yeah i disagree with the Dawngrasp nerf 'cause it affects way more decks than just Standard.
Bet you’re right tho. Mage is dead in Standard play.

I dunno, compare starfish to owl to get a sense of the power creep. Owl, 3 mana silence 1 minion. Starfish 2/4 instead of 2/1, silences ALL minions; its insanity, basically don’t ever need another silence card ever again.

So yea 4 mana at least puts the breaks on this insane tech card that is an auto-include into any deck that can fit it.
