Paid account banned PLEASE HELP

I woke up this morning to my paid account having been banned for alleged bot activity. I definitely do not use bots. I have a lengthy list of in-game friends and have spent nearly $200 on this game since Xmas. I really like playing Hearthstone, it’s a great game but this is honestly just infuriating.

I opened a support ticket and have a record of emails regarding all of my transactions. Can someone please help? I am more than a little upset about having seemingly wasted this money on this account only to have it banned.

Are you implying, that cheaters aren’t banned if they pay? Because there are bans in WoW and there everyone pays.

no I’m implying that I am a human who definitely does not use bots or even know how to use bots and I’m pretty disheartened right now that my account has been banned for seemingly arbitrary reasons

 looks like we struck again.

what does that mean exactly? and why is it funny that an account I spent what little money I had on has been banned for something I’m not doing?

well i have seen complaints like these before on the wow forums. It might be some other software thats being detected.

I remember someone once who installed a programm on their pc for work so it would not go into sleep mode.

So programs like that or maybe autoclickers sometimes get a detection from anti cheating software. basicly software you use for some other purposes might actually triigger the alarms.

Idk if you have them but its worth looking into

the only other software I even have running on my tablet is my VPN. Thanks for the input tho - if nothing else it’s nice to get a response that isn’t just trolling

im not that technical myself. But with how common vpns are nowdays i dont think that would trigger it otherwise there would be far more people with the same complaint

my roommate suggested it may have been someone I played against that reported the account out of spite. About a week ago I had a guy send me a friend request just to complain about the “zero skill” asteroid shaman deck I was playing that beat his rainbow DK.

I honestly don’t know… it’s just really disheartening. I’m essentially a shut in with no income. I spent what little money I had from Xmas on the game - tavern and battlegrounds pass and a few packs and then my account gets banned. I’m not really expecting anything positive to come of this and I think I’;m just going to hve to accept it;'s money badly spent and never play this game again.

Doesnt hearthstone require mass reporting like WoW nowadays tho? i cant really see one report do that either. I get those salty friend invites as well, but my account never has been banned atleast.

For how long are you banned by the way? if its just a week then its not that bad right?

Either way i would suggest trying the customer service and get an answer there, but chances are you get some automated reply

It doesn’t specify any length so I’m assuming it’s permanent. I opened a customer service ticket and got the automated confirmation email that a game master would review the ticket but haven’t heard anything since.

edit If they aren’t going to overturn the ban then I think what I’ve spent should be refunded. All of the purchases have been since Xmas. Taking my money and banning my account is tantamount to stealing IMHO

update so according to the email I just received they aren’t going to overturn the ban. All of my purchases have been made since Xmas. If they’re just going to take my mnoney and ban my account that’s theft as far as I’m concerned

I have exactly the same situation, they banned me this morning for using automation software, even though I’ve never used it in my life. I requested a re-verification, and they told me they wouldn’t reconsider their decision. It’s a permanent ban. The best joke of the new year, thousands of hours of gameplay.

Didn’t you guys made the rope burn by any chance too regularly? Because that is the same behavior like using bots… or using prohibited 3rd party software. Some deck trackers are also banned. Old bots didn’t do anything as far as I remember, just spammed hero power and burned the rope every turn… so if you did any of these then…

Autoclickers are EXPLICTLY BANNABLE in all Blizzard games with no exception, because it’s against the TOS to “play without playing” and that is doing that (and frankly it’s not even subjective that it’s doing that).

If you use your mouse software to autoclick (or any other software that does that (like autohotkey)) then you have your answer.

That could theoretically cause a false positive, if a cheater was using the same VPN company and they randomly got your IP in the past or if their detection is dumb enough to consider ALL vpn usage extremely sus.

I have no experience or knowledge if that’s true (frankly: it is a bit sus for sure but I wouldn’t take action just for that for sure).

This isn’t a new issue, I’m just gonna link this here:

Since these payments you made after Xmas. I would see if you can do a charge back in your credit/debit card as theft.

Done it myself before on a game that banned an account I had just made purchases for after 4-5 days later. Was refunded all my money without issue from my credit card.

Sounds nice.

Btw, I remember reading something that if you do it with Bli$$ard, they’d suspend your account at least until the chargeback is resolved. Well, in this case, literally nothing to lose anyway, right? Thus, it’s probably worth a try.

I dunno if these rules are actual, one could probably check the ‘legal’ stuff etc at Bli$$ard’s ‘support’ site (I use quotation marks because such words sound very ironic in this particular case and with this company in general), but still, this idea could be a starting point.

Oh, this could also be a lesson — one should know better than to spend any money with a… scrupulous company like this one, known for its treatment of customers.

Yeah, i had the same thing happen when blizz charged the money afterwards instead of upfront wich confused me as its always been the otherway arround.

If you are banned anyway and customer support doesnt do anything you might as well charge back. Then again idk how it works in your country. but perhaps if they eventually sent a debt collector or something if it never gets paid. I have no clue what happens if you never resolve the chargeback

Could have been some hitch on the bank side.

Then I’d suggest living in a more civilised country, perhaps.
