They don’t have to, but I have a feeling that they want my money and the money of thousands of other players! Duh!
Oh yeah and I’m hoping they have a conscience!
Which people? You do realize that money translates to salaries for employees and that if they lose it they have to fire people.
It is easy to be on your high horse when the only consequence of your decision is not playing a video game. A bit harder when you have to face down employees that no longer have jobs.
But to the request of the OP… I won’t demand anything. However I would suggest that they remove the monument or at least the plaques surrounding it in front of the HQ…
It’s one thing to lie about something. It’s possible, and even proven, that I can like someone who I know lies. As long as I know what I’m getting when dealing with an entity, I can deal with it. I just won’t trust them with various things or necessarily believe anything that they say that might be important…
However I can’t stand hypocrites. Now all hypocrites are liars, but not all liars are hypocrites. I would suggest that you guys go for the lesser of the two evils. Don’t say you stand for something in words, and then do the opposite in deed. Know what you are… Accept what you are. I can accept that.
But I can not financially support a hypocrite. Person or company. Going the way of EA is a bad move. Pay more attention on how Project Red does it.
I, one of the gamers you claim to speak for do not agree with any of your list of demands, numbers 3 & 4 specifically, the others seem like petty space fillers.
I think it’s more than a few… But I won’t blame those that need to feed their families. Nor do I blame the ones that just straight out don’t care. But respect to those who speak out with words and deeds for what they believe… Even if I don’t agree with them, that’s good measure of character.
Certainly a hell of a lot better than saying you believe one thing, and then going against it.
Well said. To those posting stuff like “How dare we make demand”, have you ever been to a retail store. That’s how things are done. Do this for me or i go elsewhere. These demands you keep shooting down over and over again. There is a reason they keep popping up. Its more a question of morals and ethics than legal responsibility. If your compass says these things are fine, than you are a very different person than the one commenting. They are actually “Trying” to do something more than only voting with their wallets. It gives people a sense they are not alone in this feeling and that good can come when we speak together. So keep shooting people down, they will keep popping back up, over and over again.
I agree with the rest of your post, but I always cringe a little when people bring up CD Projekt Red. They might have a decent PR department, but they treat their employees with near-total ruthlessness.
The vast majority of the people commenting on this issue are likely hypocrites. They all say Blizzard shouldn’t care about the money but if I offered them a million dollars I bet most would be willing to switch their tunes. I think very few people would stick to their guns if the money was on their table.
That’s true I did. You know why? When the mods merge all of threads together, everything is out of place and out of context. I bet none of you here have the balls to do that.
Gotta take it in context… I meant it only in the way that how they represent themselves to the public.
And it’s not really a “decent PR department” that separates them from so many. I have yet to catch them in a lie, and they openly own their mistakes. That’s not a department that takes care of that… It’s a way of being.
Of course… I thought that way once about Blizzard as well… My mind can, and will, change based on evidence given through time.

But then, I’m not beholden to investors or Activision either. I’ll never be in that position, for a couple reasons… The main one being, I would stick to my guns. Those people wouldn’t want me in charge. We aren’t cut from the same cloth.
I’ve spoken to multi millionaires who wanted something from me… They don’t like me much. I’m just not good at slurpin butt.
