OT: Tonights Music - what are you playing?

I just looked over my half dozen different Country playlists, and I really don’t have sad country songs, besides Caroline, on any them.

Probably because I don’t care for songs about neglected or abused children or the death of a child or a dog, which is why I don’t listen to songs like Concrete Angel or Old Shep.

I do have a short song called Sam by Sturgil Simpson on a playlist, which is about a man missing his favorite dog, but it’s not a very sad song.

A tear jerker, and a true story, written by Guthrie, and covered by Dolly:)

My step-father usually had his car radio tuned to a country station and he was fond of this sad trucker song, which is more of a sad story than a song:

Cool classical group from Brazil I think, homemade instruments too.

Unsure about trucking songs although my name might suggest otherwise :joy:
My grandfather enjoyed playing this song when I was growing up.

I grew up with all of those:) And I was a truck driver lol.

Happy 90th Birthday, Mr. Nelson.

Ya’ll know I like to keep going in different directions every night.

I have my hard nights and everything in between. Here we go.

The man is dead, RIP, but his music lives on.

Follow up. Maybe, probably far more important of a song…

Lastly, just got to say…

Oh I can say, Heaven isn’t too far away…

Jani had a nice voice. One of the better hair bands.

Another voice from the era I loved.

Nik Kershaw did this first, but I love Danny’s version.

Btw, I like putting music genre labels on some of my posts so that I can sometimes do a check before accidentally reposting something.

Today, I’ve been working on a lot of different playlists, including a few Neo-Psychedelic ones.

Black Sabbath’s Planet Caravan, which was also covered by Pantera, makes for a great Neo-Psychedelic cover by Moon Duo:

Deep New Americana:

Steve Winwood and Co. covering Ike and Tina Turner.
