OT: Tonights Music - what are you playing?

Great song. Natalie is a girl I followed for some years.
I am a huge Leigh Nash fan as well, but on this particular song I really love the originals.
Pretty sure the song is about an illicit substance and not a girl.

I agree, The La’s original version of There She Goes is fantastic. Sixpence does such a great job covering this song that I am found of both versions. Maybe I should have shared an original from Sixpence, like Kiss Me:

Sixpence Non The Richer also does a great cover of Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over, but I probably prefer the original.

I definitely prefer the original, but Leigh can sing practically anything.
Here is my favorite from her.

I used to be a giant Linda Perry fan as well.
After the incident with Pink I stopped following her.

My first time hearing Just A Little, and the soft fluctuating vocal qualities remind me a little of Sheryl Crow’s cover of Cat Steven’s The First Cut Is The Deepest:

I like Pink as well, but her falling out with Perry is not going to get me to remove what’s Up from my playlist, because I have too many found memories of unwinding by singing along to this song on the drive home from a long day at university.

Both Perry and Pink tend to be outspoken to the point of feeling like “ whoops, maybe I shouldn’t have said that.” Pink has certainly had her share of relationship issues with people that she has worked with, and she has burned friends (perhaps necessarily) before to advance her own career.

For anyone who wants a general refresher of Perry’s and Pinks’ falling out:

Here is another good article that lends some perspective on the matter:

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/jun/06/linda-perry-non-blonde-pink-christina-aguilera-dolly-parton-gwen-stefani-courtney-love

Oh, I still love What’s Up, but Pink is far from the only person Perry has burned.

Certainly. In that Larry King interview, Perry alludes to how her big ego impacted her decisions to bail on 4 Non Blondes for an attempt a solo career, and she discussed her nature to be “controlling.”

There is no doubt that Perry’s song Get The Party started was a big driving force for the success of Pink’s Misunduhstood album.

Controversy aside, the song Beautiful was a fantastic fit with Cristina Aguilera.

I guess the other thing I appreciate about Perry is her signing of James Blunt and his song You’re Beautiful, a favorite of mine.
