For the Damaged Coda by the American indie rock band Blonde Redhead is a great piece of music, which I had not ever taken time to contemplate beyond its use as an ubiquitous meme for “something sad, “ until it was posted here.
So I just spent some time working backwards from the song being a meme to its use in The Adult Swim cartoon Rick and Morty (it’s on Hulu) by just watching the first episode of the series, and I will probably end up watching some more of the show.
As for the song, For the Damaged Coda, is blend of “mood” music that is almost a Trip Hop song (with its use of a subtle vocal chorus of Hahaha, ha, ha, ha-haha) or an example of Modern Classical (to use an oxymoron to convey an idea). I am not sure what playlist I would put the song on, since I do not have one yet for “Anime Lo-Fi,” but I do look forward to encountering the songs’ use in Rick and Morty:
“In 2014, For the Damaged Coda was used in an episode of the first season of the cartoon Rick and Morty. The use of this song was again repeated in April 2017 in the third season. The use of the song became an important plot device regarding the character “Evil Morty” for the series.”

BTW, the Epic version that you linked is the best one.
I love Tyler:)
YouTube Music created for me a 2022 Recap playlist of songs that I listen to a lot over the last year.
The Karen O song above was on the list, as was this contemporary R&B song:
I listened to this Ambient Pop song a lot in 2022:
“Two separate production duos, one from York and the other from London, collide to pump out an infectious late night anthem. We are talking about Frequency and Soulcircuit, two equally burgeoning house acts that are setting dance floors on fire with their new collaborative effort dubbed “Lost.” Airy ambient tones lead us into haunting vocals from Diia while a warm pad melody ebbs and flows around propulsive drum and bass combos. This has Ibiza beach party oozing from its core, but it also fits right in with a secluded underground nightclub. Wherever you want to play this gem just make sure the volume is all the way up.“
I seen these guys three times.
99’ Family Values Tour live PA set
Twice doing straight up DJ sets at techno clubs in Detroit.
This track features a female singer with an amazing voice.
Thinking of Tori reminded me of this song, which Tori covered for Good Omens,
but my Mother played the genuine article in Our house, and it is the version I know, and love.

One more from Miss Tori for you all.
Another splendid '40’s cover, by way of Mona Lisa Smile.
Buona Notte
In the 90’s, I had about a 50 minute commute to and from university, so I had a lot of time to listen to Alternative music, and it was quite refreshing to hear a lot of new female talent on the radio during those days.
Cornflake Girl was Tori’s best song, and I have it on a playlist, along with music by other women who came onto the scene during the 90’s, like:
Alanis Morrisette
Jewel
Joan Osborne
Avril Lavigne
Fiona Apple
Natalie imbruglia
Meredeth Brooks
4 Non Blondes
Sheryl Crow
Natalie Merchant
10,000 Maniacs
The Cranberries
Sixpence None the Richer
Bjork
Dido
