Not bad.
I have a couple playlists full of Asian music. Some have strong traditional influences, while others are very modern in style. If a foreign song catches my interest, I always look for an English translation of the lyrics:
Welcome to the Xth Dimension
Hey Everett
In your world,
just what has become of me?
Let me sneak a little peek
Hey Everett
According to you,
there are many other worlds
I don’t really understand it
“Hi, Dandy”“Hello”
“How are you doing?”
“Thank you”
“Hi, Dandy” “Hello”
“How are you doing?”
“Thank you”
Nee Ph.D.
Kasanaru sekai wa
Itsumade tatte mo heikousen da wa
Sotto oshiete
Nee Ph.D.
Sakasama no mama de itatte
Nanni mo kawaranai’nda wa
Atama ga PANKU shichai sou yo
Hey Ph.D.
These intersecting worlds
will always form parallel lines no matter what
Tell me secretly
Hey Ph.D.
If things remain the opposite of one another,
nothing’s going to change
My head seems like it’s going to burst
Aa samete wa kataku nari
Nessureba tokete yuku
Kono yo wa kotowari darake de
Dame ni nacchai sou ne
Ah when it gets cold it hardens
When heated, it melts
In this world full of principles,
it seems like it’s going to break
One dimension, two dimensions, and then three
Removing the root, what dimension is it now?
A different dimension, a different dimension to another different dimension
Leave it up to the mood, and count from 1 to 10
Mayday
A space battleship is being shipwrecked in a space-time interstice
Yes, that’s just it
Hurry up and discover it
Mayday
I’m stuck deep in ecstasy
and I can’t seem to extract myself from it
That’s right, resignation is vital
“No, Dandy”“So what?”
" "“Wait, wait”
“No, Dandy” “So what?”
“” “Wait, wait”
Hey Lady
How does taking off your dress
to join a one-song dance party sound
How’s this beat?
Lady
In the process of evolution,
there’s no cancel button
Do you understand?
There’s no backing out
Come, the dream of an unending dream
A melty milky kiss
How far will this world expand?
No No Dandy
The chime’s sounding to signal the end
of this short, short story
One hour, two hours, and three
I’ll embrace this time bomb, So Dandy
One dimension, two dimensions, and then three
A supernova drifting from the West to the East
Easy Game, Easy Game,
too Easy Game
We’re ready to go, but how are we getting back?
Come, the dream of an unending dream
A melty milky kiss
Thanks for posting the lyrics its the best part of the song!
Hard to see them in the video and the translation you posted is more elaborate
There’s something about the title of this song that I like .

Sky
Flowers also start to bloom
If you want to see
I can see anything
This landscape too
All pink
Draw as you wish
Dreams on the desk
When the chime sounds, it’s over
Always waiting
I’m lost in my sleepy eyes
With a dream on the desk
Blackboard full of numbers
Someone is laughing
I want to wonder
I want to challenge
I am today too
I’m sick
Draw as you wish
Dreams on the desk
When the chime sounds, it’s over
Always waiting
I’m lost in my sleepy eyes
With a dream on the desk
When the chime sounds, it’s over
Always waiting
Draw as you wish
Dreams on the desk
When the chime sounds, it’s over
Always waiting

I’m not actually that much of an anime dork, and I’m even less of a J-pop enjoyer, but I’ve always liked the way this sounds, even if I only understand like two words of it total.
FMA Brotherhood is a great watch too for the record
My theory on anime is that 70% of it is the worst hot garbage but the top 0.7% is fine art. FMAB is in the fine art category to me.
I have about the same opinion about gangsta rap.
Hot take: I think the first FMA anime was hot garbage. Also SPLHCB is classic album
The first FMA is a bit too serialized too much fluff and dragging it out
Brotherhood was much tighter and had the better arc and ending in my opinion
I wore my SgT pepper tape out. one of the first tapes i owned.
The Beatles were definitely my mom’s favorite band. I’d grow up listening to albums like Rubber Soul and SPLHCB playing over and over.
My mom was an absolute terror. Abusive. Like Terrence Fletcher but female. But that’s not the Fab Four’s fault. If anything they helped us have some peaceful moments.
Rubber soul into Revolver is my favorite period for the band.
You can hear them transitioning to what they would become in their late 60’s years
And Harrison’s growth in his writing really takes leaps
I have a similar take on both amine music and rap. I used to identify with the John McCaine character in Die Hard when one of the bad guys tells him “I want to hear you scream,” and he replies: “play some rap music.”
I went through a period where I searched YouTube for other people’s favorite play lists and I was shocked by how many lists were completely full of anime music.
Sometimes though there is something—a phrase or melody—that I really like from both of those genres, like the contrast of the anime expression “you are already dead” followed the cutsey female vocals:

I see a lot people talking about anime / K-and-or-J-pop, and as a metal head, I thought some (none?) of you might find this interesting:

I was 10 years old when my Mother took me to see The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
I fell in love, and have loved Dame Maggie Smith ever since.
With her passing, I wanted to celebrate her life here: Godspeed for a true Actor.

Kris Kristofferson was one of the best songwriters of his era.
Here is my favorite from him, as performed by another Legend.
Godspeed, Kris.
