EDIT: I recently started a playlist of modern music that has a 70’s sound or vibe to it, and I just realized that Young Lady You’re Scaring Me by Ron Gallo belongs on it among songs like Tighten Up or Lonely Boy by The Black Keys.

The Howard The Duck soundtrack had the interesting combination of John Barry, Thomas Dolby, and some Joan Jett esque tracks by Lea Thompson and the cast who played some songs for the film.
A fascinating listen for a cult classic film, or in layman’s terms: the duckiest soundtrack you’ll ever find.
when i saw this thread it was this: https://youtu.be/PD-MdiUm1_Y?si=RvZG_tdZNODQa43-
New Wave or Gothic Rock:
Today, I re-watched The Equalizer (with Denzel Washington) and a song at the end of the movie caught my attention. It was Joy Division’s New Dawn Fades, which closed this action movie in way similar to how Moby’s downtempo song, Extreme Ways, closed the Jason Bourne movies.
I have some other songs by Joy Division on a classic Goth playlist, like Love Will Tear Us Apart, Disorder, Isolation, and Dead Souls, but I never paid much notice to New Dawn Fades until today.

Closed an unexpected deal! Heading to the 'Bama soon on a nice deal, love ya boyo’s!! This was one very unexpected contract to bring into the fold!
Interesting. Are you referring to Pressure as an iconic song of the 80s? Because if you’re going with a Billy Joel album as an icon of the 80s, I’d probably go with An Innocent Man over The Nylon Curtain.
And I’m not much for Pop music, so I really could only name Shout and Everybody Wants to Rule the World (which I’d acknowledge was HUGE in '85/'86).
