That’s really minor compared to losing orb entirely.
It’s really not that bad to lose king tide or Skyla vs a control deck. They are usually trying to drag the game out until you run out of resources, which really just gives you time to play the cards at full cost.

Infinitize isn’t bad, I was playing with it for a while. Norg is still questionable. I’m not sure if I’ll be keeping it or not.
And I generally don’t like holding orb in ETC.
I understand the orb thing i jist got so tilted with skyla discounting orb three of my first five games with bsm when i had tsunamai in hand

Thats the reason i hide the orb in the band,even a Tsunami drawn by Water Color cant screw you over.
The Orb is just to give you an edge on games that last longer anyway, most of the times you wont get to use it.
But you 100% need to drop Tsunami/Sunset , wasting a Skyla on the Orb doesnt feel worth it for me.
I thought that too until I had a game where I got to sunset volley and orb in the same turn because Skyla had discounted it earlier. It’s not an immediate high roll, but it sets up a very strong turn later.
And Ive still got watercolor and king tide to accelerate tsunamis anyway.
And thats fine if theres a “later turn”, many times there isnt because if you dont do you insane swing your opponent will and by then it might be too late.
Im also not a fan of lists using Marin and Zilliax,if a deck like BSM needs to start running those OP alt neutral win cons it just shows me those cards need to go away from standard.
Overall, I am pretty sure (like nearly 100%) that you’ll lose more win rate from making orb awkward to access than you’ll gain from the occasional better Skyla play. Most lists hiding orb in ETC have not been doing well.
Stats on Marin don’t look particularly good so far. He’s a bit too slow. 7 Mana Zilliax is just a really powerful anti aggro tool.
Sounds like people aren’t using the 0 mana orb to their advantage when it hits.
0 mana orb sets up bigger conman plays or tsunami volley orb plays in the same turn.
You also don’t HAVE to play orb for maximum effect. Nothing wrong playing orb on turn 6 to play 3 spells and then a Star power to clear the board all for free.
Your orb doesn’t need to be a greedy orb.

You don’t wait until you are dead to play it.
Sometimes it’s ok to play on turn 5 when you play Skyla.
Coin, Heatwave, Secret replay. Sometimes that IS the play for turn 5.
what if you didnt draw those, what if its turn 5, you only have played minions, and you have 3 10 cost spells and 2 9 cost in hand
you try to swap the coin cost and bam 0 mana orb and they are about to rock you now what?
Then you die from aggro. The same way you would have died from aggro had the orb been in your ETC.
what about bsm vs bsm,
you swapped for a 0 cost orb and they had orb in etc, there swap never hits orb, and you get rocked?
Yeah, putting orb in ETC is overcorrecting for the games where you are against aggro, Skyla in 5 is your only out, you didn’t draw your early removals, and you lose the coin flip because you drew orb by turn 5
When you start multiplying all those independent events together, it’s a really small percentage of games.
Then you can wait for the Tsunami > Orb same turn combo or the Volley > Orb combo.
Or, if you already played Tsunami, you can play Orb > Conman on the same turn which is devastating. When they recover from that (if they do) a Conman the next turn + 6 mana should kill them.
I feel like the greedier versions of the list with those late game big minions is for players still trying to climb to legend or in the lower end of legend. Who has time for Marin let alone a 9 cost zilliax, which i see in a bunch of lists? I’m about mid legend now and the amount of aggro has increased greatly. No way i can play with late game big minions or even attempt to be greedy. Need all i can to survive the early pushes.
That’s why my list uses the 7 Mana Zilliax and no Marin. Although Marin is suspicious in the first place.
I swapped it out. Not really worth taking 3 damage per turn for no reason.
It’s lifesteal so you never take the damage.
