Not really a community discussion. I don’t really keep up with these forums. But I do come here to express myself. Good and bad. This addition of runestones will prevent me from spending money on this game. And I spend lots of money (lol) on this game. Blizzard, remove this nonsense or lose my business . Much love, an upset gamer who loves this game. I want to buy them portraits, but I won’t buy the runestones.
these posts are so funny to me!! i get it im against runestones too. but you think these threats will change anything? of course not they dont care. they making bank either way. you are far from the bulk of their sales! lol
Personally I dont care much about skins or any of that other crap, but it annoys me that to get the 2 extra hero chances in BG’s I gotta spend $15 on stupid runestones for a package deal full of crap I dont care about. Please give me the option to buy them at a reasonable cost without all that other crap. I used to be able to buy them with gold which i really appreciated. I will NOT be spending $15 for them. For a miniset or something similar? Sure. For a bunch of poor quality skins? Not happening.
3.5 dollars a month is more than a low price, I can’t imagine cheaper. The skins come as a very nice gift, and I don’t want to find fault with what they give me. If you don’t need an extra 2 heroes to choose from, and you don’t need a gift, then there’s no point in spending even a very ridiculous price of $ 3.5.
I did not write this post for entertainment purposes, but i’m glad you found it funny. And i do not think this will change anything, I KNOW it will change things. Trust me, blizzard listens to people that spend money, and they know I spend more than the average. If nothing changes on Blizzards end, then they will lose a customer. I LOVE hearthstone. But i will totally leave it in the past with 82% Golden collection and not think twice.
It’s actually very funny. I probably spend more than you on this game, and I’m in favor of runestones. I think they are a great idea because I’m strongly against Apple’s and Google’s business practices on mobile. I am not a Blizzard fanboy, and I believe they have done a LOT of things wrong. Runestones just aren’t one of them. Now, I would agree with you if you were trying to get them to return many things to being purchasable by gold.
oh no aGieL will leave! we gonna be bankrupt we must change everything! lol
while i hate runestone they allow for things they were not able to do before like cheaper items.
it also help them ignore gambling laws cause u dont buy loot boxes you buy runestone then use them to gamble on loot boxes.
it also allow blizz to ignore the laws in certain countries that say a game should never exceed 100$.
it also make people spend more cause its not a monetary value. same reason casinos use chips and not dollars.
im sorry but your 82% golden collection dont outweight the benefits blizzard gain by doing so!
I remember on the wow forums reading posts like this, and the response was “the sub numbers will be the final say”
Then after the freefall that was the devs’ hubris that was wod…they got so salty after being slapped in the face by being wrong on “the vision” being repudiated time and time and time and time and time again after taking a game with the highest sub count ever to numbers it hadn’t seen since launch that they stopped reporting them entirely.
Now actiblizz titles are being beat by candy crush, as of their last quarterly report.
So, the “bulk of their sales” aren’t even coming from here…it’s candy crush, because actiblizz continues to drive their customers away with dumb moves like runestones.
This. Because one day, one way or another, they will be forced to acknowledge the business 101 principle that states it takes 2-3 times the investment to get a new customer than it does to keep an existing one.
Like losing a lot of customers; they aren’t reading the room, because implementing the failed muti currency system from HoTS isn’t helping the game, it’s hurting it.
And multiple posters have posted how runestones are banned outright, so gg actiblizz on that one, because it’s the type of nonsense that laws have already been targeted to address.
Your sarcasm finds no home. You do not understand. It’s okay though. Our conversation here is over, hope the best for you!
What is the point of gold now? To buy loose packs of cards? Can’t use it to buy anything else, so why have it?
gold is needed for the same thing as before, nothing has changed, what you spent all these years on and spend it on
I buy a mini set in the middle of each season, packs at the beginning of the season to build a deck, and the rest of all the gold I have goes to the arena and duels. There is never any gold. I don’t spend anything on mercenaries, even though I play there, but I get everything for free.
The community at large showed that in fact enough complaints and examples of how it hurts the game and its FTP aspect can effect change when the current rewards track first dropped. No reason we cant affect it again if we all choose not to purchase runestones then maybe we will see them go away or take a lesser roll. No company is too big to fail.
Why would this prevent you from spending money?
Again, why would the implementation of runestones drive you to withhold your business?
Why not?
I read your OP a few times and I still cannot see the reason behind your decision. Is it the inconvenience of having to first purchase the alternate currency and then purchasing the product? Is it in response to the change in the cost model for BGs? Is it a moral objection to the concept of alternate currencies?
I certainly respect someone putting their money where their mouth is. I stopped spending real money on Hearthstone a few years back when they refused to implement an autosquelch feature. There seems to maybe be a little movement on that front, but until I see it in place, my money stays in my pocket. I see the “money” part in your OP; that you are not going to spend money on runestones. But where’s the “mouth” part? What exactly is the issue with the runestones driving your decision?
i can’t speak for anyone else. i should also note the only thing i spend irl money on in this game is the main rewards track. i don’t buy cosmetics or bundles, or anything else that doesn’t improve gameplay. only reason i buy the pass is for the xp boost to generate more resources.my reasons for not using runestones is you have to buy them in bundles. if i could buy any amount i want on a 1 to 1 basis, it wouldn’t bother me. just an extra step. but i have to buy in bundled amounts that don’t match the price of what i want to purchase. to me this is the equivalent of buying something and the merchant saying “thanks i’ll keep your change, and you come on back when you wanna spend it here and only here” this is really the only issue i have with them.
Like this Trashtivision owned company would ever do something for the customers benefit. Trashtivision will literally use any and all methods no matter how predatory to milk its idiot customer base out of money.
THIS COMPANY IS OWNED BY ACTIVISION. IT IS NO LONGER BLIZZARD.
The sooner you get this through your head the better.
the reward track is the same as when it was first dropped…lol
No it isnt. They added rewards etc after its first setup was announced. Im sure you can find articles on it still. The reward track we have is not the original annouced plan.
its still pretty bad and not worth your money. also the only changes i can see is quests going from 800xp to 900xp nothing about the prices or rewards at all
The developers heard the feedback, Game Director Ben Lee announced that the Reward Track will give rewards more often, but it won’t give more rewards. so dont expext a price change or a change to runestones. nor to get more bang for your bucks
@Cedric
My issue is I want to hide a purchase from my spouse I can, but not anymore when I have to buy runestones.
