there is kinda a triangle meta at high legend atm. face hunter eliminates all greedy and poorly built decks, quest warlock destroys face hunter and board centric decks, mage burns down quest warlock. with the meta changer of DH versions are starting to show up in response to the quest decks
Same also playing mage⌠god I already hate the expansion⌠luckily I am on a win streak
Do you not realize just getting to totally bypass and ignore the board for the entire game goes against the fundamental designs of Hearthstone? That if a class is allowed to do this (and right now he have like, 3 maybe 4), it warps the entire game into an arms race of who can play Solitaire the best?
I wonder if they wonât be so quick to do nerfs since there are 3 or 4 powerful classes, not just one dominant deck.
I hate playing popular decksâŚso I might just try DH lol
otk/quest DH is popular at high legend aswell, so tough luck
Well, he thinks old freeze mage took planning, which says a lot about his sense of values.
Old freeze mage is more about praying than planning. Back in the day itâs not like we had crazy card draw, so the mage prays they do draw (top deck) the specific freeze spell or spell combo (e.g nova+doomsayer) at the right time. And thatâs only for the brief period in the very early days. Soon after they started introducing more RNG so itâs not just drawing the right spell, but discovering, or she gets extra generated spells/minions, or she casts spells randomly, etc which lets her play stuff without using up her combo pieces (and anty combo being quote unquote infinite damage means mage doesnât even have to plan if she has enough damage for a lethal like most other OTKs)
Yeah, I do remember Freeze Mage taking off like a rocket when they first introduced Discovery. Playing around the first two Ice Blocks was one thing, it was the third and fourth that did ya in.
Theyâve made one of the least enjoyable match ups to come up against in the game even more excruciating. That it was a deliberate design choice doesnât fill me with confidence moving forward.
I use Demonhunter. I have played against new mage quest about 3 times, and all 3 times it was pretty much a non-game. Was completely overwhelmed. Definitely hope Blizzard nerfs this soon.
Mages needing to target minions with their Ice Spells is the only reason their Quests arenât always completed by Turn 6.
Mage quest deck needs a big nerf, no point playing against it, by turn 4 -6 full quest done and then just throws everything at face. You cant get anything out. For those who dont pay stupid money to get packs there is no point playing, i opened 45 packs and got 1 legendry, this game is going downhill fast
Itâs day 2 and the counters to mage are already appearing in droves, in particular, Rogue who can not only block the board but stealth themselves. An empty board early makes them useless and then Rogue just amps up (goes stealth) and wrecks. Zoolock punishes quest mage beyond all recognition because they do not have enough AOE support to manage the relentless hoards of minions. Quest paladin is looking to have a similar gameplan.
This is just on day 2.
Considering they in a lawsuit and took 1 month to nerf deck of lunacy. I would say nerfs coming Nov
That Rogue deck is insane not only it can cycle its whole deck by turn 7 killing you with Garrotes it also has Cloack of Shadows that makes sure no one can touch your face .
Im on my Legend climb and its full of people using that Rogue but i guess it might still be a sleeper on lower ranks.
It really feels like a wild OTK. You just watch the APM destroy you and there is nothing you can do.
just completed two and half round of quest at turn 5 with Warlock.
Turn 4 drop stealer of soul. Turn 5 darkglare, backfire, plays a tons of health cost cast and drop tamsins.
My opponent clear with ysera awakens + the overload shaman spell that cost 1 mana.
turn 6, drop stealer of soul 2 , OTK.
BTW, iâm still to lose to a single quest mage ever sinc ei put Vests of Protection on my fire mage deck. Also works wonders against warlock, demon hunter, hunter and rogue.
