People keep stating that the card draw in Hearthstone is random. There is no card draw randomization. Card draw is based on an algorithm that draws better cards for the money you have spent with Blizzard. It is not and has never been random. The engine just has gotten better heuristics over time and better code has made the engine better at what it does. The more you buy the better your card draw will be.
There is an average fifty percent win rate as the card draw engine is giving two players the best card draw and only one of them is going to win. Whoever gets the better draw is going to win.
In no way would it benefit Blizzard for card draw to be random. They want people that pay for content to win. People for some reason have a hard time seeing this as they really want it to be random. It makes them feel better about how they play but sadly it’s based on your purchases and not your play style.
I have not bought anything from Blizzard in over a year so you can imagine the games that I play. I am fortunate to have a ten percent win rate, if even that, and that is usually down to the wire. Most people play standard decks so one can predict with a fair amount of accuracy the cards that are going to be played against them. No matter how well you play if the card draw engine is selecting cards for the other player to counter whatever you play. If you don’t purchase you rarely get a win and when you do it’s most likely after the other player has burned through their initial onslaught and you made it through. Much more with Warlocks they have so much card control and with lord jaraxxus played at turn nine most games it’s usually over at that point
