I’m loving the spell school synergy.
Seems really good, most spells seem to be from the Fel school though(edit.- most spells in the core set and newly revealed ones are from the shadow school.) Also completly off topic, paladin got another legendary anounced and no1 has made a post about it.
Wow! This is absolutely amazing if shadow spells are any good. We haven’t seen many for warlock so it’s hard to say.
Aren’t most warlock shadow spells hard removal so far? >.>
This might be good for a bit but probably ends up not being widely played, except for fun.
This is like an Electra Stormsurge, you can cast a spell a 2nd time for 0. But you can also choose to keep the spell for later. So in that case it’s like a Keeper Stallardris.
Highly dependent on whether there’s a “broken” shadow spell or 2 out there.
Wow, just add more resources to your hand like nothing ever happened.
In standard yes.
In wild… It might replace Zephyrus as a tech option for dark glare warlocks.
(power overwhelming, soulfire, the solarium and raise dead should be shadowspells… just ugh,)
Penflinger might love this card
which warlock spells currently on standard are shadow spells ?
Only the two revealed today.
The card library has Twisting Nether, Drain Soul, Siphon Soul, Mortal Coil and Ritual of Doom. Although I am sure more cards will be given the tag.
Ignore my response, then. I searched for “shadow” and it didn’t show those.
Doesn’t show all the cards but there are new filters.
Your filter showed all cards and not only standard.
So, can I assume that for Warlock only 5 spells are shadow and all the wild spells aren’t?
Let’s not hope that for wild…
The filter seems wonky for me.
The high value play is siphon soul for a second hard removal
Drain soul may not hit as hard on its own, but with spell damage and mo’arg it can, while healing for more
Priest may be interested to steal this.
Rogue shadowstep is technicallyi a shadow spell, but it costs 0 so won’t work (neither would ritual of doom)
No, many of the Wild spells will also have schools, they just haven’t shown us the labels yet except for the Core cards and those from FitB yet.
If you look at the FitB announcement, they give total numbers for the spells that will be added to each school:
- Arcane (2 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 44 Spells from past sets)
- UPDATED Fel (3 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 23 Spells from past sets)
- UPDATED Fire (2 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 45 Spells from past sets)
- Frost (2 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 24 Spells from past sets)
- Holy (5 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 67 Spells from past sets)
- UPDATED Shadow (4 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 113 Spells from past sets)
- UPDATED Nature (6 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 117 Spells from past sets)
This makes playing a late game Cult Neophyte against warlock very dangerous. 10 mana is 5 Drain Souls.
Sigh. When will Blizzard ever learn that 0 cost cards are almost always a bad idea. Every T5 developer who ever proposes anything that ever costs 0 should first be thrown face-first through a plate-glass window and then be forced to sit in a corner for 48 hours to think about it. THEN if they can generate a 1,000 page thesis justifying WHY their idea isn’t a bad one then it should go to a panel of 600 reviewers and only allowed to proceed with a super-majority approval of over 75% of the panel after the developer has successfully defended his thesis.
By the way, almost all of Paladins spells are Holy, including Librams, which is really relevant once you see the new Legendary that was shown off alongside the new Warlock one
Link? I can’t find a paladin legendary that cares about holy spells.
