Uhhh… are they going to get more lackey generators? Because… this seems a little bit weak if they only get the 4 sources of lackeys… especially with the recruiter emphasizing early use and sacrifice of them.

It also makes the recruiter much less exciting when you sacrifice a 4/4 to get a 5/5.

Not so great. Maybe with more ways how to get lackeys it might be awesome.

Don’t forget drawing this card late as well, crystal core a card with a similiar function although way stronger since it affected every minion, you had the quest guaranteed at the start of the game.

This card has potential, but Warlock will need more lackey generators to utilize it effectively. As a 5 Mana 4/4, this card will need to have a significant impact to see play in Zoo Warlock.

On the other hand, this is in the class with a Hero Power that draws cards. Warlock could make Reno very consistent.

It’s another highroll for zoo. If you hit this on curve it’s great, if you don’t it’s probably pretty bad. They’ll probably add another lackey generator though in which case this is much better.

Curve after the 3 mana 7/7 and you’ve got yourself a nut draw imo.

First; I KNEW IT! I knew he was going to be the legendary Warlock minion in this expansion! That’s the Warlock hero from Dalaran Heist, for those who don’t know him. Second, he looks AWESOME!!! :smiling_imp:

As for the card itself; it reminds me of Rogue’s quest Caverns Below but only for Lackeys in this case. 1-mana 4/4s with powerful Battlecries are of course crazy! :scream:

But of course this card does nothing if you’ve used all of your Lackey generators and played all Lackeys, so that’s a considerable downside. Warlock currently has only EVIL Genius and Cable Rat for Lackey generation. So, with these two and their two copies, you can generate maximum of 6 Lackeys in a Warlock deck, unless we get a new Lackey generating card, for Warlock or a neutral one.

So, I guess I should first see the entire set before deciding how good this will be.

I had that concern as well about not having enough lackey generators.
And often enough you have to use them against murlocs or whatever roams in the meta.

Maybe baristas lynchen sees some play in zoolock. They sure have a lot of good battlecry minions now :open_mouth:

As others have said there are too few lackey generators so far to make this any good. How many warlock cards are left?

T5 Keleseth.

Unless you make a handlock deck that makes use of hand fill from lackeys, play your giants and drakes, then play this and then very quickly tempo back out. I struggle as handlock to recover the board before I die because you take too much damage and heal to little. This might actually let you make some very strong tempo plays.

Am I missing something? How is warlock generating lackeys to help support this?

There is EVIL Genius (Battlecry: Destroy a friendly minion, get two Lackeys to your hand). And Cable Rat that adds one Lackey to your hand. So with two copies of both you’ll get 6 Lackeys in total as Warlock.

Yeah, but that doesn’t seem like enough to support a legendary minion…especially when there is another card revealed that wants to destroy your lackeys…hmmm

Two common Warlock cards have yet to be revealed, I would hope that one of them is a Lackey generator as well as a new Neutral Lackey generator. Otherwise this is a rather lackluster card at least until the final set of this Standard year.

Exactly. That’s why it would make only sense that either Warlock gets a new Lackey generator or everyone gets one as a neutral one.
