New Rogue Legendary: Shadowjeweler Hanar

he probably figured it out by now

he had a month to do it

In the flip side, there are quite a few decks that struggle to remove a coined-out Hanar, which then often snowballs into near-invincibility.

I really don’t get this legendary just like the Rogue Galakrond. Wasn’t Rogue’s thing supposed to be high tempo high risk high reward plays (e.g. Edwin)? Now they can do high reward plays (Hanar& 4+ secrets) at the high, high risk of…two cards? It doesn’t make sense.

Nope…now it’s “casino rogue”!!! just keep playing “discover” lackeys/mechanics until you get a win condition or a snowball board state your opponent cannot recover from. Its slot-machine victories for all rogues!!

Discover a spell
Transform a minion into 1 more expensive
discover a dragon

And once they turn Galakrond they can just keep lackey spamming.

If you run SJH you play him late with a Dirty secret and snowball away.

HS and Team 5 seem more interested in extreme board swings…feels like marketing to streaming services to me…

But that’s just the Oliver Stone fan in me speaking…

…now let me go get my tin-foil hat

:stuck_out_tongue:

My only problem with this card is Discover a secret instead of random one, its way to powerful and can win a game by it self since it can spawn infinite number of useful secrets very fast, i did not won a single game against this card.

Or at least if they want to keep the discover a secret think just make the card killable, 2 mana with 5 hp is just too powerful!

I think it’s busted and stupid, like most of what got printed this expansion.

After a month of play I have to say he’s actually quite busted…he either needs to be more easily dispatched (lower health), or the secret mechanic should be reworked to give a random secret instead of discovery. The discover mechanic makes this card TOO powerful by allowing the controller to pick the very best secret to match the current board state. I think making the secret a random one added to your hand instead will lead to healthier gameplay since picking the best secret every time simply leads to a snowball state the other player has an EXTREMELY hard time recovering from, especially given the fact that the owner of SJH will continue to spam out secrets to protect him. It’s just not fun being beaten by the 15 different cards the other player was allowed to pick to match the board state that didn’t even start in his deck.

Every single game I have played where SJH comes out end up being the same way, Unless you have a way to remove him when he hits the table, your going to have a difficult time breaking that momentum. Unless your playing a total nub.
