We be taking these now. Is the pirate way!
Play 8 pirates and a 8 mana 8/8 is too slow in the current context.
However if control value decks get out of hand in the new meta, this kind of value rogue cards could punish them.
This is a great card to get fancy in Wild, maybe a Reno Rogue just for the greed an powahhhh lol.
There is now Amalgam of the Deep, so you can discover another one while completing the pirate count.
After seeing this card, I think it would make sense if we saw this card come to standard:
*Sees the plunder options
*Quickly re-checks the topic title and the card border
Oh thank god itās a Rogue card and not a Warrior card.
Move that in and leave in Swashburgler, that is your 8 pirates.
This is honestly what the battlecry condition for Kazakusan should have been. This will be a very unfun, but low power level card the opponent will absolutely hate to play against but very fun to play.
Safe to say, most people who still enjoy being able to play minions in a game based around minions and spells toā¦win the game, and not be completely hopeless and miserable when going against the toxic and overloaded deck that is the pirate warrior, would get slightly offended, if not outright affronted and furious, if such a card of this caliber were to get printed for warriors; which goes especially true for pre-ordering customers as well as Wild players. This was a sanity check for both the players and the developers, and Iām happy to report that only one of us appear to have gone slightly mad!
Sounds pretty fun. Looking forward to using it in duels.
Also damn, Hooktusk looking swole af.
To be fair this is an extreme setup for a class lacking survavility, so, it is rogue being rogue as always, the class is completely destroyed by aggro and burn decks outside the few games you draw GODLY and beat your opponent tempo every single turn but leave little to nothing hope for the opponent when play against slow control decks.
I donāt need this card to beat slow control decks, I need something, even neutral, help to survive against hiper-agressive ones.
I canāt agree moreā¦
Any of the people have to see more of the pirate card for the rogues to play with or just the neutralized pirated cards?
This card may be the fun but hard to make the pirates in the rogues.
Pandarian Brewmasters are welcome to join a pirate crew right? At the very least the young one, currently in Core, is just right for a 10-mana hit and run and hit ā¦ and maybe run and hit again.
Idk, 8 pirates is a lot. The ones revelaed so far donāt look so great. My bet is on meme.
I think itās hilarious that the requirement for this card is essentially the exact same as Raid the Docks.
Tbf, itās a great answer to a whole bunch of annoying crap, for anyone with brains. Which is a great direction for Rogue.
This community: OTK decks are OP I canāt grind my opponent into fatigue with control.
Also this community: No, not hand disruption, that is unfun.
Sorry, but no, you canāt have zero counters. There needs to be OTK decks so control has something to struggle against, and there needs to be hand and/or deck disruption so slow decks have a chance, but not a guaranteed win, against combos.
The main problem I have with this design is itās giving tools to the wrong target and at the wrong cost. If your deck summons a lot of Pirates, youāre probably not a control deck (to put it mildly), and if you get to eight mana and no oneās dead yet you should probably pick the deck option against combo because obviously they havenāt drawn everything yet. Itās not that disruption shouldnāt exist, itās that this card is designed by an idiot.
Take two cards from opponentās hand seems pretty strong when most decks will be getting low on resources at the point this gets played. This could be a surprise OP card imo.
