This is so annoying change and honestly, I dont understand what Blizzard expected as reaction, when they give YEAR OF THE DRAGON packs as reward for 3000experience (2daily quests+several hours of playing).
What is motivation to play, when new expansion comes? To create new, interesting decks. To get packs (gold) and to build your collection. So what does blizzard do to help it? They give us old expansions decks and way less gold.
I am at level 22 now - for next 5 levels to climb, which is cca 16.000XP, which means 7 daily quests (6000XP?) and 3 weekly quests (5000XP) and 5000 XP from playing, which translates into 15-20 hours of play.
And what I get for those 15-20 hours of play? 1 scholomancer deck (awesome, 40 dust, as I have almost everything I wanted from that expansion!), 1 year of the dragon deck (another 40 dust, yay!), 250 gold (=2 decks) and one legendary (which can be from recent 6 expansions+classic I pressume, so chance 1/8(?) to get new legendary card).
What would I get from those 15-20 hours in a week before this change? 160 gold per day, which translate into 10 decks.
So what is my motivation to play right now? I dont have dust to craft key cards from collection (which is btw really weak). How do I get dust and packs? When it doesnt reward me at all for playing? I get 2-3 decks, (probably) old legendary and (probably) 80-100 dust for week of hardcore playing.
For this system to be at least presentable as helping players with the most expensive F2P game, they will need to try much harder. Right now, it is worse than before.
Either give us back 10 golds for 3 wins or those “rewards” (old decks, random legendaries) on top of the gold every level. Because getting year of the dragon pack for several hours of grinding is just laughable.
If they really want to give these old decks, make them either golden or rare (blue and higher only), so it can be at least dusted.
Other option is cutting experience needed (or give more experience to players) by a lot (like half the numbers) - because who wants to play several hours to get year of the dragon deck?
