New Priest Legendary - High Priest Amet

Look to the skies! Yes. Finally that priest deck will work.

Maybe.

Quest druid was my favorite way to align the stars before the rotation. I’m sure I’ll be theorycrafting at least one version.

Just noticed it says summon, not play, so reborn minions get reset to 7 health? That’s going to make it tough for your opponent to keep you from getting two of them and removing this guy in one turn.

Woof. This sucks. Another passive priest card that is useless becuase passive cards are too slow.
And 2 attack? Lol. This probably wont even trade well.
It’s effectively a pure combo card in a class that couldn’t beat a paper bag.

It’s got a big booty which means on curve it can probably survive to the next turn. And priest has ways of healing it up/buffing it via Inner Fire, Extra Arms, and maybe just other minions. Say you coin this out on 3 and follow it up with a Defender of Argus. It might then be a 3/8 with taunt while you have a 2/8 on the board as well. You’re just a divine spirit + inner fire/topsy turvy away from a ton of burst.

Or imagine you coin this out on 3, bump into their minion on 4 and then follow it up with Northshire, Injured Blademaster, Circle of Healing. That’s a pretty big swing.

Imagine you Psycopomp this thing.

It is pretty bad when reborn, unless you like all of your minions being set to 1 health (or 3 after some healing)

From the cards we’ve got so far I think some sort of zoo Priest is looking potentially viable, Grandmummy, Amet, Murmy,Psychopomp and possiblt infested goblin are all cards I can see in this sort of deck, alongside Extra Arms and Magic carpet.

The Reborn cards play very well with Psychopomp (it works like divine shield, if a Reborn minion is rezzed it is rezzed with Reborn on it) and they will provide a nice sticky board to land Extra Arms on and trade efficiently.

I don’t think you can really build a combo deck around H-P-Amet because it’s a single legendary card you have no way to tutor, but running it in a deck full of small minions makes a lot of sense, I just wonder if it’s worth running the divine fire combo ? It’s not good in a straight zoo deck, you don’t want dead cards and you haven’t got many good targets, but the high roll potential is always worth considering, and Sand Drudge makes cheap spells a little more attractive.

Thought; a 7 health Stonetusk Boar, a PW Shield, 2 Divine Spirits, and a Topsy Turvy makes for a charging 36 damage OTK. Degenerate cards continue to be degenerate.

The horse is Anduins steed or is Anduin his?

Card seems very strong if Priest can maintain a board up to turn 5.

You’re a priest, you can heal it up. Hell, you can play the Neferset Ritualist and heal him to full and that should get you a 2/7 as well.

There’s nearly always some 6 card Divine Fire OTK in every set, it’s just not very consistent, having to find at least 6 cards, and then it can be easily disrupted by Taunt or secrets. The chances are you will just die before you find it.

I can easily see myself playing this in a deck without DS and IF, just to buff my small minions health to a mighty 7, not worth building your deck around 1 card unless you have some reliable method of drawing it every game.

Mana-cheat is everything, unfortunately in HS.
its sooooo overdone.

Surely the priest ppl can theory out something better.

But i’m assuming it goes like this:
Kill High Priest Amet off
Res it on 2 mana.
That leaves 8 mana to combo.
oooh snap never seen a mana cheat combo b4.

Side note
Once again information-warp.
I’ve run into 2x DSIF priest in my 10 min today back to back.
Wonder why that is?
Did VS like…maybe advertise that deck idea working RN…and individuality and personal style goes out the window for…rank?

No not in HS never…

Edit 2 make that 5 priests in a row
DSIF + DSIF + DSIF + QuestReno + Whatever this one is after que…

Priest is like…a magnet for rank 20/19.

Funny how Priest used to be “the reactive class”.
Priest is totally the-opposite of reactive.

It is probably more face-res oriented, one-sided gameplay, not caring what you do, more than anyone else.

Not sure. There are a ton of meh cards that become super playable. spark drill (5/7 rush and two tokens to set up star aligner). Getting it to stick will be the trick, that’s where the board control tools will be critical, and we will just have to see if they are up to the task.

A bigger issue is getting it. It’s never a good idea to build your entire deck around a 1-of you have to draw to be good. So, you’d need a viable deck to exist and Amet to simply make it better. Which is asking a lot right now of Priest.

Priest right now feels like so much is riding on how good the quest is. I don’t really care for that feeling

This + Psychopomp gets your a 2/7 a 3/7 and a X/7 with reborn. Looks like there might be a resilient Midrange deck in Priest somewhere.

I don’t like this, seems like Blizzard have no clue on how to make Priest good again instead they just push cards that enables them to do some crazy stuff and enable them to get an OTK from hand is something I would say doesnt really fit the class fantasy they are so fast to bring up whenever they do something.

Sure in theory this card looks intresting but in reality it will be a frustrating card to face and it won’t fix Priests problem with playing a proper game. Not gonna say the card is bad or anything its just not a way I wished they would push Priest. And we all know whenever an OTK is a option thats what decks tend to go for.
