New Paladin Rare - Blessing of Authority

5 Mana
Give a minion +8/+8. It can’t attack heroes this turn.

That is crazy.

I guess this is the “how much raw stats can make a card good” test

Like a better dinosize without the ability to go face. Pretty good.

Gonna be another Paladin Vs removal this xpac. Can those minions stick this time!?

The entire paladin class seems to be “throw down stats with almost zero tricks (and hope something sticks)”

I think non-pure non-murloc paladins can now run a lower curve so they’re more consistent in the early game, but spells this like will let them turn those low drops or even recruits into threats later (and then this discounts pupil, and helps braggart)

Pairing this with lightforged blessing give paladins (another) burst heal on their hero.

All these spells also make liadrin useful even without librams… well, at least libram of wisdom.

This is a pretty strong card for a common. Blessing of Kings is played, and while that hits face, it’s only half the stats and good for maybe one trade. This is a tempo recovery card allowing essentially any minion to trade favorably. 4/5 card. Solid.

when you play this and the opponent truly regrets to have ignored that one silver hand recruit on the board.

Basically let’s any token turn into a 5/7 Mana 9/9 and make a trade or just snowball. Could have been a pretty degenerate combo if you could have combo this with the 3 Mana 2/4 none of your minions can be targeted by spells. 8 Mana 10/12 all your minions are immune to spells anyone lol?.

But yeah basically a 8/8 rush for 5 Mana will be insane, even just bonemare was insane as a +4/4 card with 5/5 stats for 7. This is basically a 5 Mana 8/8 with rush or a 7 Mana 9/9 that can be silenced. Even then it might be kill a minion, force a silence. Constructed might still have many answers but this is probably a 11/10 arena card.

I would have said it’s pretty great despite Paladin’s limitations and utter lack of draw or rush, but this expansion is handing out Battlecry: Kill a Minion or other hard removal to basically everyone (but Paladin). Warrior got Equality, has Execute, and Shield Slam often just deletes anything. Hunter has Deadly Shot bolted onto two minions, plus Veranus. Rogue just got a 3 mana execute/assassinate, plus sap effects. Mage/Shaman got 1 mana devolves. Priest got a Vilespine Slayer to go alongside SW:D. DH has another silence (and I still think Magehunter is underrated in defensive decks). I guess Warlock is a bit light on new hard removal.

At least it’s still something to do with a 1/1.

Isnt this for high abrus allura making it a 11/14 or something

If she casts it on herself, she can attack next turn as well. That’s kind of a high pressure moment for the other guy.

a stronger buff i can use on B scorpid on curve !

I don’t really think this card is worth including in the deck. Whatever this targets will get silence/sap/destroyed, losing face damage the turn it’s played means I’d rather run kings or phaoris instead.

It’s not horrible but it’s probably not worth a deck slot

Stealth Paladin, that could be ugly.

im not going for a stealth paladin not enough good ones to run in one …

ive been using that scorpid to remove DH 2 hp minions and slaping blessing of kings on the next turn
wont hurt being able to use this one instead if my opponent has a big guy out

Maybe idea is to try and use minions which are always going to be dangerous to the opponent player and which force the opponent player to remove those minions that very same turn or suffer the consequences. Eventually they’ll run out of sheep/hex/silence/removal spells.

we have air raid too 7 mana and 2 cards to get a 1/1 with taunt and a 9/9 with taunt doesnt sound that bad to me

cheap taunts are good targets for this card

I think that’s what’s they are going for here, same with that 2 mana minon.

I’d be looking to use liadrin more as well to refill hand with good buff spells, if the game can be made to last that long.
