I understand the game has been hot-patched to change Eye Beam’s Outcast to costs (1). I just drew it off of a Skull of Guldan and it cost 1 when it was on the rightmost of my hand. But then correctly cost 0 once it was no longer on the edge.
This is still an issue even after official patch.
Not a bug. Eye Beam’s Outcast effect overrides any mana altering effect.
Is a bug. Outcast is meant to enhance a card, not weaken it.
What is meant or not is only known to the designers.
The card text reads: “Outcast: costs 1”. And that’s exactly what it does. So the card at this time does as it says on the text, which sounds like not a bug to me.
It’s just a matter of thinking. Effects like Combo and Outcast improve a card’s functionality if you can use it under specific circumstances. Harder to pull off -> greater reward. One doesn’t have to be a designer of the game to determine this.
You do make a good point. Thus it is revealed that the error is in the card’s text. It should read “Outcast: Costs (2) less.”
