without changes it´ll just die to Questmage, fatiguewarlock and OTK DH without putting up a fight, so i don´t see any of this take of yet.
and even then i would not be shocked to see mage draw themselves to fatigue 30%of the time with the 9mana cheat spell instead of actually doning sth.
might be much better next year with a smaller spellpool, just like deck of lunacy had dominated the start of last year all of a sudden.
mass devolving like gatling gun would be much better than this ( think about facing Hunter and change anything into beast 1/1 )
and wide board is still 7 attack and we don’t have arcane explosion
I am not sure how mage can deal with wide minions other than flame strike
It is similar to Mirror or 7 mana for priest - it is useless pretty much against any OTK/combo deck, but it is great against others.
Compared to devolving… If you have 2 8drops on the board, devolving change it to 6-7 or 5-8. against Nzoth turn it doesnt do anything.
Does it work in quest mage? No, unless you desperately need it and discover it against something like Celestial druid, priest etc.
This card seems like another counter to deathrattle priest i love the flavour the best mage card sofar it seems expensive but its effect is exremely powerfull.
You cant run Devolving Missiles on Big Spell Mage in fact any spell bellow 5 mana is a big NO for the deck
Mass Polymorth is a most welcome add to the spell pool for me.

and devolving missiles vs something big might be even negative thing - like against Warlock with gnolls , 6/6s with taunts and giants can just kill you, because there might be bigger and better minions.
Devolving work decently only against minions who are buffed/have strong DR effect (summon 5/8, 7drop etc), where you have decent chance to meet something weaker.
Annnnd there’s goes any hopes and dreams of playing Deathrattle Priest ever again

In the right situation, this is REALLY strong…but I think there are also times where this is basically a 7-mana Polymorph (think OG single target variant). I think it’s easy to overrate a card of this nature because our minds will jump to the absolute nuts scenario. Overall, this is a solid card but the situational nature and high mana cost limit the value. I think a 3/5 is a fair rating.
what i like about this spell is that it makes it easier to get that first honorable kill for magister hero power
Holy crap! Blizzard heard me and listened?
I asked specifically for this more than once in the not too distant past.
Well they wont always have it in hand.
That’s only when you are the mage. Then yes, never in hand.
But if it’s the opponent who’s the mage then they always have it.
That’s a scientific fact ^^

Really nice spell.
But this may be a bit situational, depending both on the meta and on how you’re building your deck. If you’re trying to get Magister Dawngrasp to recast things like Deep Freeze and/or Grand Finale, you probably don’t want this in the Arcane pool to turn all of those bodies into sheep. Likewise, if you want to use Iceblood Tower to cheat out spells, you probably don’t want this in your deck either, since it’s not a spell that works best just cast at random.
With this and the other big spells, it would be really useful to have a version of Arcane Dynamo back — “Battlecry: Discover a spell that costs (5) or more” —, ideally on a cheaper body.
I remember this lmao i was there, you got your wish.
Blizzard loves you lmao.

Um, they definitely don’t love me lol.
Idk, maybe they got sick of my complaints?
I like the card but I feel it completely kills big decks.
I already hate this card. My poor librams!
Well thats Big Spell Mage thing they get to the late and out value you.
But just like the old version it has a weakness to agressive decks getting to the late game to do all those cools things wont be easy.

It actually looks like big spell mage could be a thing. There’s consistent strong plays from 6 mana onward, good big spells from 4 different spell schools. All we need to determine now is if there’s enough 5 and less mana plays to stabilize the deck until those later turns. At first glance there might actually be enough for a cheap minion + big spell mage to work. That seems like it’d be a really cool deck to try. Mage and, shockingly, demon hunter are the classes I am most looking forward to trying in this expansion.
Any hopes of Rez Priest being a thing in this meta just died
