It’s also about setup.
Those cards cost less because you actually lose time doing those things.
I can easy tell that your premise is wrong because reducing cards cost is only one of the ways it can manifest.
The relationship about setup and cards with drawback is just not right in this game and i can actually take many examples of in game cards like mana biscuit and lightning bloom.
Why on earth you print a card like mana biscuit with the restriction to only refresh mana when lightning bloom can actually get you above your actual max mana?
Simply putting.
You don’t.
Someone just did not think at all that even in a world where you’re talking about flavor the fact that you have to pay before(setup) while the other is paid after(drawback) isn’t only flavor enough but also a big difference in powerlevel.
A drawback like lightning bloom you can sometimes not even experience because your game could be over.
While a setup can put you in enough disadvantage that your pay off can not be enough.

I cant believe it works half as well as say; Druid or Priest does.
Like i said elsewhere: Team 5 has nerve calling that card a neutral when it benefits certain classes so very much more than others.
hey, played this deck cause of your comment. beat a priest with it.

proceeded to lose the next four though. mage is dead, yet again.
at least mage got a legendary in the miniset (again, same for priest).
I really hoped they planned all minisets in advance, so every class would get the same amount of cards; it turns out they make random cards that may or may not be used in the future

Some classes/decks needed to be toned down a bit. Mage was one of them, hence this card.
They already had a monster of a legendary in the last expansion in Mordresh.
that is not even close to the deck i had in mind?
try sth along those lines

it´s probably a slightly worse mozaki, but with more flavour, playing the quest mostly for additional carddraw like priest would, not as a wincon in most matchups.
This card is busted in Druid lol, guy casted solar and ward, got 2 of them. Oh well, poor me

the card is better in Druid than it is in mage. Way to fail with design.

so because of 1 card it had to be toned down abit? then why not tone down the druid by that logic?
