Pros: 10 mana, a MINION, card art is fantastic, Rune and Drakefire Amulet are leaving

Currently after rotation, the biggest spells we know about are Arcane Defenders and Deathborne.

I’m willing to bet this is going to be part of a setup for an OTK involving Vexallus. Maybe they’ll return Power of Creation and Greater Arcane Missiles to mage core.

My immediate thought was play this, play potion of illusion for free and get a free copy back and then start going crazy, but I’m not yet sure what that combo looks like.

Oh, and obviously you can tempo a spell with this on turn 10 so its not a “do nothing” turn.

I assume it keep track of the spells you played it on, so if you play this, Blizzard then next turn if they were in your hand when you played this, pyro, pyro someones face?

I am relieved that it is a 10 mana minion but I’m sure there’ll be a way to abuse this in crazy ways or cheat it out way too early. I am sure I will hate this at some point.

Mana cheat ruins the game.

This card is actively counterproductive for that strategy. It’s easy to reduce a bunch of Arcane Bolts to zero mana, and drop them all. Bonus damage if you drop the spell damage polymorph.

Just seems to me you play this when you have pyro and fireballs in your hand and next turn you win the game.

Obviously, very hard to pull off, but that’s the best case scenario as I can see it thus far.

Pyroblast > pyroblast > fireball > fireball for 6 mana next turn.

It’s easier to use new cards to build a New version of aggro mage than make this work.

Yeah, that’s obviously not going to be the use for this, because that’s way too hard. But, I can see this with a free cast of some big spell the same turn and then pop off next turn.

We are actively getting neutral support for 1 mana cards including extra draw and a overpowered 2 drop.

If devs insist in that direction with most mage survival tools rotating i not even gonna need to see new cards to know it not works.

Id hate to be sitting on 2x pyros in hand. But id play the get random card thingy for free, then next turn pray rngsus for good turn.

I dont think the random spells you get would be discounted. Reading the card I think it only affects spells in hand when its played

It’s a bit difficult to do too much with that, and it sounds like he can be actively detrimental in some cases, like if you discount arcane bolts, and then one costs 0, then the next costs 1, and now they all cost more than normal?

Great card with metrognome though.
